I've tried talking to god but realized that in reality I am only talking to myself.

You posit god as "outside of time" and in the very next sentence describe everything god "does" as time-dependent ("watches... every day," "waits," determines sincerity (after the request), "then he will answer"... All the communication we are capable of doing is time-linear. Sentences, thoughts, ideas, have beginnings, durations, and endings. The act of communication itself is time-bound. If we are time-bound, then any being that wishes to communicate with us must also be time-bound (at least temporarily) to complete the send/receive process.God is a being outside of time, because he created time, he watches and judges our actions everyday. he waits for our prayers and if they are sincere (not asking for some random chick to fall for us) then he will answer or provide assistance as it is needed.
http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/deism/49037-speaking-god.htmlEverytime you do a good deed for another person, you have done it to god.
This makes yourself out to be a god, how is that possible you are so plain and don't have any good teaching or lessons for us to learn. The problem is we were talking about God not you yourself god, there is a difference and you need to find it or you will end up confusing yourself. please contact me for some help!
She doesn't need your "help."
But He can choose to achieve things through men. That's why the prophets are called. And I actually know serveral ways of how they communicate, future is usually involved for un-ambiguousness.
Why would he only be "un-ambiguos" to prophets? In the scriptures it says that God "is no respecter of persons." In my opinion, that means that no one is better than anyone else when it comes to God. What I mean is, God should be just as willing to give you and me a perfectly clear message as he would to Elijah or Moses.
If the holy God/s are real than I don't see why it should'nt be possible to communicate with It or them.Is it possible to communicate with God? If so, how is it possible? Have people ever communicated with God? Is it important?
I tried daily for many years but was always left feeling empty, like I was doing it "wrong." I never felt the presence that others claim to feel and ultimately gave up, not understanding why I felt no relationship with God and others did so easily.
It's still necessary to me.If it all boils down to a one-to-one communication, then does all the other stuff become unnecessary? Or does your specific religion help you communicate?

Thanks.
Does your religion influence how you communicate with your god?

This should be a laugh :beach:

It is unlikely that any request for information will be forthcoming.
Communicating with God?
Is it possible to communicate with God? If so, how is it possible? Have people ever communicated with God? Is it important?
Well, I expect this isn't directed at me, since that's not quite what I said. But it's close enough that I'll answer anyway. If, as many of the above posters have said, communicating with god is possible and is a deeply personal experience,
They're unrelated.why then the need for organised religion with all the various trappings, hierarchies of priests and ministers, rules and regulations?
For communion, it was never necessary. Organized religion sees to other needs. If it all boils down to a one-to-one communication, then does all the other stuff become unnecessary?
No. It does, however, support me in my goals by providing a warm, loving community that delights in diversity.Or does your specific religion help you communicate?
