Condemns ISIS for war and hate but okay with Catholic church's past atrocities for centuries?

Sigh. I meant when we are alive we can stop being Catholic but not stop being human.
That's easy for you to say. But I don't believe it's up to you whether or not people have the ability to stop being Catholic or not. I imagine some can, and maybe some can't. It's not up to you to make those decisions for other people. But if you should decide to turn in your membership to the human race, I'll do all I can to help. If it's not right to tell homosexuals to stop being gay, then I'd advise not telling Catholics to stop being catholic

My, my we're touchy, aren't we? I'm saying it's possible to leave the Catholic Church. I'm not saying Catholics should stop being Catholic - I'm saying they can.

You've got be...

I'm saying the option is there, for goodness sake.

I never said it was. What part of

escapes you?
So then, if Christians don't disassociate themselves from Catholicism then you believe they deserve the same punishment as ISIS members who commit atrocities just because hundreds of years ago there were some Catholics who committed atrocities?

What? No!

I'm trying to point out that the comparison you were trying to draw here
You are a member of the human race. Human beings have a horrible history of slaughtering one another. And yet, you continue being a member?

between being human and being Catholic is flawed in that it is possible to stop being Catholic because we can change our religious affiliation but not possible to stop being human because we can't change our species.

And I have proved that you are wrong about that. You can more easily take your own life than change your beliefs.

No you haven't. Killing yourself doesn't change your species.
JFK does not exist. He is dead. He is not a species. He is a former member of the human species. Now he is rotting corpse, not a human being at all. He WAS a human being that no longer exists. Memories of him may exist. But he does not.

JFK is no more a human being than an unborn, un-conceived child, who may one day exist.

If JFK exists, so does nearly every single aborted fetus that would by now have been a fully developed human being.

Just because you did exist, doesn't mean you still do.

On reflection, you make a fair point.

a human being is a man, woman, or child of the species Homo sapiens, distinguished from other animals by superior mental development, power of articulate speech, and upright stance.

JFK is not upright, has no power of articulate speech, and has no mental development at this time. He is not a human being. He was.

Okay, I give. You're right.

Hare Krishna,Hare Krishna,
1. Being a living breathing human being is definitely a choice.
2. I do not have to ask anyone to do anything I'm not willing and prepared to do myself.
3. whatever

1. No, it isn't.
2. Can't expect logic from Christians much.
3. Now you are officially a christian

Hare Krishna,Hare Krishna,
It's history. Get over it.

No sane person believes those who commit atrocities in the name of Christ are actually following his teachings or example. The same cannot be said for Mohammedans. Christianity had a reformation because of Christ's teachings and example; Islamic terrorists, on the other hand, are simply following in Muhamed's footsteps.

Surprising how clueless some Christians can be.
Both religions are terror, Christianity just excels in it, 40 times more than Islam will ever be capable of.
And if someone kills your parents, the next day for you it will be history.
If you can get over it then sure, you could say that.
Also whatever the Islamic state till past this exact moment is also history. So, hope you can give sane replies next time. :)

Irrational, but if that's what you want to believe there's nothing I can do about it.

Like I said, no sane person.... :p
