Let me know how doing the same thing over and over will eventually magically get different results.

Never said it would. Why the vagueness? You don't have political views? You don't have a party or ideology you prefer?

Cept in your paranoid case, everything and everyone is a potential typhoid Mary now, so instead of just dealing with one or more confirmed person(s) like it used to be
The key part of your statement above is "used to be".

When it gets to the point that stopping the hundreds, if not hundreds of thousands...

What is YOUR idea of how to keep the US Medical system from collapsing?

I'm sure it's only an issue when it affects only one side of the aisle , without having any consideration that essentially the same thing is happening to others who don't share the same ideology and viewpoints.
I am an independent who acts like an independent, but we certainly cannot say the same about you. However, in today's America, the Republican Party that I grew up in and supported years ago has gone totally bonkers as have so many who still defend that which should be indefensible. As Stephen Hawking said about Trump, he's "a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator."

I still lean right but even I question on how the Republicans are behaving lately.

I regard both parties as despicable and wreaking havoc on the nation.

Right but those actions must be fair and balanced, not something like "theres a slight chance you might get in a car crash, therefore you are not allowed to work or leave your home."
That's not what was going on though, was it.
We were in the midst of a pandemic (that ended up killing over 1 million Americans alone, and 7 million people worldwide), of a novel highly contagious virus that could be transmitted by people not even showing any symptoms at all, where we had to learn as we went along, where hospitals were completely overrun, and overwhelmed and people were dying because there weren't enough ventilators, masks and other necessary medical equipment available.

People seem to forget the reason we went into lockdown in the first place, was to alleviate the massive stress being placed on hospitals by the massive influx of ailing patients needing ventilators and immediate medical care, which meant that if anybody needed to go to the hospital for anything else not COVID-related, they'd be out of luck as well. Remember "flatten the curve?" That's what it was all about.

I don't know what else I can say, as an ethnic Jew and religious LHPer, I can't be this surprised that people buy whatever they are fed.
