You have yet to show me one scripture where Jesus states I am not God !

And, in light of my analogy, what purpose would this serve? How many people have to go around saying "I am not god" just in case people get the wrong idea?

You have yet to show me one scripture where Jesus states I am not God !
If I say, "I am going to live with my father, Hank", then I am obviously not my father, Hank.

"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."
John 20:17

Now, as to your claim.
Can you supply a verse where Jesus explicitly states "I am God (Yahweh)"?

Well?

Rev. 3:12

Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my god, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my god, and the name of the city of my god, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my god: and I will write upon him my new name.

The "ascended" Yeshua explicitly states 4 times he has a god. If he is already ascended to heaven then why isn't he "God" at this point instead of informing John he has a god?

Why did the Jews want Jesus dead?
Isn't it according to John [10v36 B] because Jesus said, "I am the Son of God"?

Surely Jesus should know if he is someone's Son.
Jesus even brags, so to speak, in verse 29 that his Father is greater than all.

Was Jesus God before coming to earth? Then wouldn't Jesus be God after being resurrected to heavenly life ? Yet 60 years after God resurrected Jesus to heaven Jesus at Rev [2v18] still thinks of himself as the Son of God.

Jesus never explicitly stated "I am God (Yahweh)".

Yes He did. When asserting that He was the First and the Last. That can be said only of God.

Rev 2:8

And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

Isa 44:6

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

And going by you criteria...

Jesus never explicitly stated "I am God (Yahweh)".

Just as he never explicitly stated "I am not God".

Or are you now accepting implied statements?

None of it is evidence of divinity. You cannot contain the ocean in a teacup, and God the Creator cannot be contained within all of Hisx Creation, much less the body of ONE human being.

The fact that Jesus was born of woman means He cannot have been God.

"The Father which sent me. . ." is just one more of dozens of opportunities Jesus took to keep Himself separate from God in the minds of His followers. At opportunity after opportunity Jesus calls Himself the Son of Man, not the Son of God.

My wife and I are one according to the Old Testament, that does not make my wife me, or me, my wife.

Jesus and God were one in purpose, one in Revelation (Jesus the mouthpiece, God Revealed Himself with). It can mean everything but "one and the same".

You prove your own assumption in your own lights and expect it to convince others? That's called "begging the question" or "Circular argument". It's not proof in any rational sense.

Regards.

Scott

You do a very good job of contradicting scripture. When that happens I go with the Bible. Your first point about the teacup/ocean and "God can't be contained in a body" is clearly refuted in scripture:

Colossians 2:8-10
(8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
(9) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
(10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

You said: "The fact that Jesus was born of woman means He cannot have been God."

Again you contradict the Bible and the God-ordained prophets:

Isaiah 9:6
(6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Not only was Jesus God, he was the everlasting Father, the ONE God of the Jews.

Ephesians 4:6
(6) (there is) One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Did Jesus ever outright claim to be God? Yes.

Revelation 21:7
(7) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

He also said the we will be His son, making Him our Father.

Before you go making such bold statements, you should research your Bible. The philosophy you present is in direct contradiction to scripture and is easily refuted by the Bible.

You sure thats not god the father speaking? It would make more sense cause the bible speaks plenty of us beings sons of god.

I find that most Christians don't understand their own scriptures. Yes, that verse is "God" speaking. We know this from its context starting at 21:5

Rev. 21:5
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

We know that ("he that sat upon the throne") refers back to Rev. 4 and 5 where the "Lamb", who Christians refer to as Jesus (Yeshua), and his god are viewed separately by "God's" heavenly creation. This is substantiated by John himself later in Rev. 21. In 4 and 5 the one on the throne is identified as "God" while the Lamb (Yeshua) was "Standing" amongst the 24 elders.

Rev. 21:22
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

John continues to inform the reader that both entities are separate.
