Didn't Satan Give Us Freewill?

Christians always say Freewill is a gift from God, which confuses me, because if I remember correctly, it came from the Devil, not God, and God didn't want man to have freewill. If it came from the Devil, isn't it kind of disrespectful to your God to say it is a 'gift'?

Why Satan gave us freewill? In the Garden of Eden, he came as a serpent and tempted Eve to eat the apple, God didn't want her to and told her not to. She took the apple. Without the temptation, the will to eat the apple would not have happened.

Lol even if that snake was a evil god, he still wouldn't have given freewill. It took freewill to even listion and choose to do what the snake said.

Supposedly, God created man. Man used his free will to choose to disobey god and get thrown out of the Garden, the Devil just convinced man to use his free will in such a way. Of-course, I'm just correcting your logic here; it would be silly to think that there was literally such a garden paradise on Planet Earth were God created the first human beings, this is in no way an endorsement of creationism. :p

If Adam and Eve had no knowledge of good and evil, how could they have chosen to obey or disobey if they had no knowledge to knowingly and willfully choose to disobey? Before the fall Adam and Eve only could live in accordance to God's will. But after the fall it become possible to choose to disobey and not worship on our own accord.

Exactly, Thank you :) Gonna use that as my reply to the two. I was thinking that "God told them to do this, not allowing them to choose any other choice"

I don't even know If I have free will. Therefor I most definetly don't know who allegedly gave it to me.

Yes, in fact, I don't believe in freewill, but at the same time I do not believe in fate. I believe every action we take is a reaction to stimuli.

But this was hypothetical, if the Bible were true should we be thanking Satan for our freewill?

Free will comes from temptation? Doesn't that subject it to determinism? Doesn't the world implode if we do that?

What do you mean? Adam and Eve had no knowledge of their choice, they just did whatever God said they could do. They couldn't be willing to sin unless Satan had came and tempted Eve.

No we shouldn't and here is two reasons why I say this.

#1- The god of the Bible knows everything, so it knew what the
snake in the garden was going to do when it created it.

#2- Genesis dosen't say the serpent in the garden was satan.

I've been wondering about that alot myself lately, especially considering studies on evolutionary psychology, neurochemistry, how big of a role our brain structure determines our personality, social and environmental influences, and one particular study that stands out is how in Russia one group of foxes have been selectively bread to be very tame, while another group has been selectively bread to be very aggressive. We may have some degree of free-will, but it doesn't really appear to be much.

Did Satan have free will?

Satan (Depicted to be Lucifer) was an angel before he fallen. I think angels had freewill, the only two humans on the other hand just did whatever God told them they could do.

Then Satan didn't give them free will anymore than a random number generator "chooses" to give you its result.
