Ism-ball!
Enough ists with enough isms and there could be one heck of a battle looming.
Somehow i'm imagining some sort of ambiguous religion called "Istism." Maybe its the beliefs in beliefs
Random though, found it funny, had to express it.
Continue on with your evening.
I like wacky thoughts, so much better than solemn ones.
If there was a belief in beliefs known as istism there would likely be folks who didn't believe in beliefs who would either be anti-istismists, or possibly a-istismists.
There is a very big difference. What ists try to do is educate while isms attempt to brainwash. Sure brainwashing might be a great way to learn something but don't make it right.Enough ists with enough isms and there could be one heck of a battle looming.
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8:11-12).
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:41-42).
So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:49-50).
And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 22:12-13).
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 24:50-51).
For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 25:29-30).
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out (Luke 13:27-28).
I know this is a reply to Christine, but I really cant tell the relevance of any of those quotes to what she said. All I can gather is that there will be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth...
EDIT: I mean, sure they are quotes from Jesus, but whats the relevance? They are out of context, and some of them aren't commands, rather, comments...
Those verses were directed at me, and I didn't see the relevance, either. Since Jesus told us to love everyone, I can't see how I could hate anyone at any time- even if I wanted to. I find more good in most people than bad. Anyone can quote verses but if they don't explain what they mean to him or her, then I wouldn't know what they are talking about.
I'll never be a Calvinist. If I am wrong (which I doubt, but...) then it is between God and me.
Those quotes show that Jesus himself believed there are bad people who deserve only hell.
Calvinists and to an extent lutherans are the only true christians left.
Shalom,
As a Calvinist, I believe that humans are morally depraved, so I have nothing but contempt for them. I don't seek to hurt them, but I don't help them or even sympathize with them; they're not worth my time.
What about you? Love humans or hate them?
Thanks for participating.
Who will control the humans?Humans are naturally childlike and need to be controlled and educated, just as the legalists in China taught.
While humans aren't inherently evil by virtue of being human, it is certainly easier to teach a human to become evil than it is to teach a human to be good, and right now our culture teaches humans to be evil and irrational.
Who will control the humans?
Who will control the humans?
God gave everyone a different view to guaranty mankind a larger view than any one person could possible have. If you choose to have nothing to do with them, how many pieces of the puzzle will you be missing??? I try to find the good in everyone. I have found everyone does hold goodness of some sort. Yes, I love everyone for to hate would only hurt myself. At the very least, I will point others in the right direction.Shalom,

That he has become a Calvinist is proof of his election.
