Answer my question then. What must a person do before he can be baptized a Jehovah's Witness?
One must have at least basic knowledge of the truth of the scriptures and demonstrate that. And one must attend meetings. Then three elders will query that one and using a scriptural basis and decide if he/she is ready for babtism. It helps to publish and associate with the brothers and sisters.

What truth of the scriptures? Who determines what it means?

the "Bible Teach" book is generally what is asked about. Knowing what the Bible teaches rather than what religions teach is what they ask about. Nowhere in the original texts of the scrolls comprising the Christian/Greek scriptures does it say church, cross, hell, trinity, immortality of the soul, and other things. Knowing about Jesus' ransom sacrifice, and believing that his Father sent him for that purpose is asked about also.

Must a person believe the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses is the faithful and discreet slave of Matthew 24:45 before they are baptized?

I was never asked about it. But the governing body is made up of annointed Christians. I would suggest, again, that you speak to someone, preferably an elder or two or three, at a Kingdom Hall nearby you and talk to them about your situation. It couldn't hurt, and it CAN help.

Remember, Jehovah is filled with more joy over one who comes back to Him, than over hundreds of those who've never left.

It is a group of people who SAY they are annointed Christians. I don't believe them.

Now I shall answer your question. I was baptized into the Jehovah's Witness organization May 1991 at the Natick Massachusetts Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Have you ever been there?

Nope. I suggest you talk to some elders about the governing body, and your belief about them. It may help. Not believing them isn't reasonable. One cannot know what another knows for certain, and not believing them indicates that you know what's in their heads. That's not possible, except for Jehovah.

Realize that one does not need to be re-babtized. One need only to return to Jehovah. It DOES mean the difference between life and death, and the tiime for that is pretty close. There's only one sign Jesus gave us left to be fulfilled before the tribulation happens. At that point it's too late. Eternal life in paradise is a pretty wonderful thing, and certainly beats the second death hands down.

I have many studies scheduled for tomorrow, and I need to hit the hay. Consider what I've said. There is NOTHING that can be more beneficial to you that exists. I am taking a brother with me for the first two studies in the morning, who has been inactive for 36 years. His wife is still inactive, but he is making great progress. He had a bad experience with a congregation that, by what he tells me, needs a lot of help. Returning to Jehovah is not scary or difficult. No one will be any less than completely happy to see you return. No embarrassment. Nothing bad at all. Only love and friendship. I guarantee it.

What do you suppose I should trust the governing body with?

How can you say I "left Jehovah"? How do you know?

My suggestion was to go to a Kingdom Hall and speak to some elders about your feelings regarding the governing body. Further, pray about it a lot. You have an issue that is unreasonable, and is probably because you are influenced by religion and the world, rather than holy spirit and God. I never said anything about trusting or not trusting the governing body. They are, however, able to be completely trusted. You have very unreasonable feelings about them that are not sensible, and have no basis in rational thinking. You need to address that. Your unreasonableness is going to cause you to be destroyed along with the world in the final battle, which is more close than ever. Time IS short.

That's it. You ARE saying they tell us what to think. Are you not saying I must side with them to be saved? You are. Where did you get the idea that to be saved a person must believe as you do?

Are believe and think not the same? What is the difference between think and believe? Are you saying I must believe as the governing body believe?
