Does Something Other Than Matter Exist?

Jimmy

I have always existed
Not physically existing
Some examples of hypothetical particles include: the graviton (the theorized force carrier for gravity), the photino (superpartner of the photon), the gluino (superpartner of the gluon), the gravitino (superpartner of the graviton), the tachyon (a particle that always travels faster than light), strangelets (hypothetical particles composed of strange quarks), and various "sfermions" like squarks and sleptons which are predicted in supersymmetry theories

There’s a whole bunch of hypothetical particles

Right you said as far as you know no one is guessing smaller than quantum. That’s why I’m telling you that people are guessing about preons. It’s all guesswork beyond quantum. that’s the whole point of this thread to talk about what matter is made up of.

The preon idea is largely scrap, the LHC has shown to many of the preon hypothesis to be wrong.

And if it should exist the preon will be part of combined with the quantum physics is attempted to understand

That’s what research is ongoing

But as you say, hypothetical and predicted, just as the preon was.

When hypothesis becomes theory come back and tell me about it.

The research using the LHC and othere colliders is most certainly ongoing.
Maybe when the LHC is upgraded we will see more (no guessing) but as it stands you are welcome to your guess

Yes, atoms are matter. How do you get from "matter exists" to "space is matter"?
The space between the atoms of the air we breathe is essentially empty space; it's a vacuum where no atoms or molecules are present, allowing the air molecules to move freely around each other, and is often referred to as "intermolecular space" in science.

I’m a firm believer in particles smaller than quarks that are made up of matter which makes up this “vacuum”.

What I'm asking is, what is the reason that you believe this?

We know Atoms exist and we know the smaller particles that make up atoms exist so it only makes sense that even smaller particles would exist that make up the space in between atoms.
