Does The Bible Contain Errors And Contradictions

McBell

Good, because all you have is a subjective personal opinion and you can never prove I am making any claims....
You are not going to try to prove that I am making claims because you know you cannot prove it. Smart.
You are free to believe whatever nonsense you like.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to stop derailing this thread with it?

I don't believe any of that. I have no reason to.

No gods are here speaking or writing, and to my knowledge none ever have - certainly not to me. What we have are words from people claiming to channel gods, which is proof of nothing more than that somebody had those thoughts and wrote them down.

What I said is that you'll never learn from me (nor I from you). I'm not trying to change you (as you are trying to change me). I'm perfectly fine with you believing the things you do. It's just not for me. I find no value there.

You'll probably understand that in terms of something lacking in me, but I see it in opposite terms. I feel complete without a god belief or a religion.
That's all well and good, I'm not trying to convince you to believe in God as that would be a waste of time. God said He is the One who converts people to become believers. I can only share my testimony, it's the same one that 100's of millions have so it's nothing new or special.

You also confirm what God has said, He said that the "natural man cannot receive spiritual things, as they are foolishness to him".

What about the millions of christians who deconverted from christianity after studying the bible?

They don't count I bet?

Or the millions of both christians and non-christians who became muslims after studying the quran? They also don't count I bet?
Personal testimony is only "convincing" when you can use them to support your case, I bet?
No, personal testimonies are the proof that something actually happened and in this case it proves what God said is true. He said "the gospel, is the power onto salvation". So millions have put Him to the test and found that He is speaking the truth. Their lives were changed, as they were liberated from slavery to sin and Satan.

Nope, that is a fail. You cannot even begin to claim that the Bible is "God's word" until you have given evidence for that. All you have is empty claims. When you refuse to support your claims you refute yourself.
May I remind you of the fact that, I have shown you mountains of evidence and proof. The problem here is, God said you can't show spiritual things to a spiritually blind person. so there's no problem with my evidence, the problem is with your inability to see the evidence.

What claims that I have made require any citations? You do not need to trust me. I have tried to engage you in a conversation where I would have to provide citations but you have just run away. Ooh, and I did cite a source that refuted your hundreds of prophecies claims but you ignored that.
Yes, I know you refuted the 100's of prophecies. The only problem with that is, that you used the oldest trick in the book to refute the evidence. That being the old "subjective circular reasoning", which can be used to refute any facts as long as the victim takes the kool aid first.

Love in Christian context ("agape") is the greatest virtue of Christian life. You have it if you cultivate it. It is not the hearers who are righteous before God, but the doers.
I would just like to add one other point to your great summary. The Bible says that we first receive love from God and then we share it with others. Jesus showed His love for us, and then He commanded us to love one another, so that the world know that we are different by the love we have for one another.

I have seen no evidence from you. Not one tiny speck. How do you reconcile that fact with your claim?

All I have seen from you is claim after claim after claim and nada.

I have proved it, but if you refuse to look at the evidence then it shows that you have rejected it without looking at the evidence and that is a position of willful ignorance on your part
Again, I have not seen any proof from you. Or any argument that would sustain a proof even if such could exist. Anyone can claim and claim and claim and claim.

All I know is that you have an opinion. It doesn't seem to have a basis beyond you really want to believe your position is spiritually and intellectually superior.

It just seems like willful, wishful thinking.

Sorry. That is all that I think you bring to this.

Love is the psychological state of valuing another enough to want to protect it, share with it, or otherwise promote its well-being. It is to be distinguished from infatuation (strong desire or preoccupation) and lust (libido, sexual attraction).

When all is said and done, more has been said than done.
I've never hear anyone butcher the meaning of the word love as you have above. Your description is offensive when compared to the description given by the One who Created love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Gods Word describes love as;

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

My spiritual eyes are not closed. They are wide open to the latest Revelation from God. I have no need of ancient texts that were written by men.

“The Book of God is wide open, and His Word is summoning mankind unto Him. No more than a mere handful, however, hath been found willing to cleave to His Cause, or to become the instruments for its promotion. These few have been endued with the Divine Elixir that can, alone, transmute into purest gold the dross of the world, and have been empowered to administer the infallible remedy for all the ills that afflict the children of men. No man can obtain everlasting life, unless he embraceth the truth of this inestimable, this wondrous, and sublime Revelation.”
Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 183
My Bible doesn't teach any of that stuff. Gods Word says quite the opposite.

God has not said a Word to u in the last 2000 years, He has remained completely silent for 2 millennia, so your claim about latest revelations is a big fat lie.

Gods book is not wide open and it's not summoning mankind, as mankind is dead in sins and trespasses. So it's ludicrous to suggest, that dead men will cleave to His cause. Spiritually dead men hate God, they can't stand His Word so they will never cleave to His cause.

No man can embrace the truth, every man is born hating the truth and only loving his sin and serving his Master Satan. So how can such men reprogram themselves to love what they hate and hate what they love. Your comments make no sense at all, they are utterly confused and incoherent.

That sea of confusion is exactly what Baha'u'llah said we would see in these latter days and He stated it a lot better than I can.

“As to the words—“Immediately after the oppression of those days”—they refer to the time when men shall become oppressed and afflicted, the time when the lingering traces of the Sun of Truth and the fruit of the Tree of knowledge and wisdom will have vanished from the midst of men, when the reins of mankind will have fallen into the grasp of the foolish and ignorant, when the portals of divine unity and understanding—the essential and highest purpose in creation—will have been closed, when certain knowledge will have given way to idle fancy, and corruption will have usurped the station of righteousness………

What “oppression” is greater than that which hath been recounted? What “oppression” is more grievous than that a soul seeking the truth, and wishing to attain unto the knowledge of God, should know not where to go for it and from whom to seek it? For opinions have sorely differed, and the ways unto the attainment of God have multiplied. This “oppression” is the essential feature of every Revelation. Unless it cometh to pass, the Sun of Truth will not be made manifest. For the break of the morn of divine guidance must needs follow the darkness of the night of error. For this reason, in all chronicles and traditions reference hath been made unto these things, namely that iniquity shall cover the surface of the earth and darkness shall envelop mankind. As the traditions referred to are well known, and as the purpose of this servant is to be brief, He will refrain from quoting the text of these traditions.”
The Kitab-i-Iqan, pp. 29, 31-32
This is an absolute bunch of nonsense, none of it can be substantiated or supported by any evidence whatsoever. All of it is the product of one mans confused mind, and it has nothing to do with reality. The main problem with it is that there are 8 billion other such false doctrines in the world, that's just one is a sea of confusion.

You said God isn’t fair. Job hits you over the head with His unfairness. That means you can’t trust what He claims about His victims.
I never said any such foolish thing. I said God is not fair according to human standards. You agree that the heart of all humans is wicked above all things, God said it. So I was pointing out the fact that wicked men make bad judges, they falsely accuse God of being evil and they call evil good and good evil.
Has the penny dropped yet?

How then are we to know you're not a wicked man? Clearly for such a question we can't just take your word for it.

The ones I know of made a living by selling books about it. (McDowell for instance.) That isn't really the issue though.

I encourage all Christians to stop treating the canon like it must be waxed like a car. Put McDowell in the attic where he belongs next to Nostradamus. Let science do its thing, and let God do his: assuming God can do things and assuming scripture actually has power. That is kind of the point isn't it that God can do things and that scripture has power in it.

I think Christians should: 1. let God defend God. 2. Not treat scripture like it has to be protected from scratches 3. Not look for signs and proofs in it or for it or about it.

[Jdg 6:31 NIV] 31 "...If Baal really is a god, he can defend himself when someone breaks down his altar."
[Isa 48:11 NIV] 11 For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.
[Mat 12:39 NIV] 39 He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
God commands His Elect Saints to go into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. So Christians have a far greater duty than simple waxing a car.

Christians must get in everyone's face and hit them with the gospel truth bomb, that way their blood won't be on our hands. I'm sure you're aware that God's Word as we have it in the Holy Bible is under attack by the world. Jesus promised His Elect Saints that we will be hated by the whole world for His name sake, and many of us will be martyred for His name sake.

Gods Kingdom is at war with this world, and the battle is only going to increase until Jesus returns to kill billions of people and destroy this world with fervent heat, like white hot lava. Then He will create a new earth and a new heavens. Far be it form us to bow out of the battle now, we must step up our battle against the world.
