It is up to God, not you, to decide as to who He will save, Dogknox20. I trust Jesus AND God his Father when he said, "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." He did not say in prayer to his heavenly Father that He and Jesus are the "only true God," did he? (No, he did not.) He said that his Father is the "only true God." That's just one scripture that made me realize that Jesus is NOT equal to God his Father. He loved his Father, and the Father loved him. Jesus knew who his Father was. (The "only true God.") There are other scriptures that clearly tell me Jesus is not one godperson of three each equal to the other and comprising one God so to say, but I'll leave it there now. (John 17:3)
By the way, Arius had nothing to do with the summation I believe that Jesus' father is the "only true God." We can, perhaps, go into it a little deeper another time.

He didn't say "I and the Father are three in one," did he? He also didn't say "I and the Father and the holy spirit are three persons in one," did he? And he didn't say they were equal either. A husband and wife are considered as one scripturally, but they are not equal, no matter how a person sizes it up. Women are considered weaker than men physically, and men cannot carry an infant in the womb. He doesn't have a womb. They are not equal, although considered as one. I believe God in Jesus is restricted to what the body can do and it was not in Heaven at the time He prayed. However since God is everywhere, then God was in Heaven and in Jesus at the same time and God being one was not separated by the flesh.

Don't some say she was the mother of God? After all, if Jesus is God, isn't she his mother anyway? Catholics do say Mary is the mother of God, but that is biblically inaccurate. I am not Catholic. According to the scriptures, Jesus is fully God and fully human. Mary was his earthy human mother. The Eternal God the Father is His Father. Mary is not the mother of the eternal God -Father/Son/Holy Spirit who has existed from eternity with no beginning. She is only the human mother of Jesus Christ, who had a beginning when the Son became flesh.

Immanuel does mean God with us. It doesn't mean Jesus is God all-powerful and almighty without beginning. Now this might be complicated for some to understand, but Jesus was not God-on-earth-equal-to-God his father in heaven. And Immanuel does not mean that Jesus is God.

The fact that Jesus is more powerful than humans does not mean that he is equal to God his Father. Furthermore, he was born on the earth as a human. He gave up his heavenly position and rose back to heaven after his death and resurrection.
