Disgusting.

Boycott what you can!

As heartbreaking as it is for me, I would be a hypocrite boycotting or getting proactive about others eating dogs. I occasionally dine on meat myself. Mostly chicken, beef, pork...yanno... typical American cuisine. It is heartbreaking, for me. There are likely others who experience similar emotions when I eat a cow or pig.

This. Squids and octopi are quite smart, for example, while rabbits are kept as pets by many people. Who is to say eating those is not worthy of boycotts but eating dogs is?

A lot of these boycotts are highly culture-specific and based on purely subjective criteria, at the end of the day.

I do not disagree with you. And I usually click on the links that are supplied by people that I disagree with. It is the only way that one can refute them. But I cannot remember being so reluctant to click on a link of someone that I agreed with. Part of me hates having this brought to light. There is a criminal lack of empathy in some of those countries.

No. Anti-dog eating, and they're kept in miserable conditions. China just happens to be the biggest consumer. I consider it abhorrent wherever it occurs. So get off your BS racist pedestal.
Nothing BS about it. The whole “dog eating” controversy is often invoked to target Asians. Maybe you’re aware of that. Maybe not. Either way, there was no BS.

Then we disagree. I'm not targeting Asians. I'm targeting this appalling practice, whatever the country. I abhor fox hunting - am I racist against my own race? No.

One could consider the level of sentience as a guide. Octopuses are more intelligent than your average maga.

Something wrong with the linked article.

I do NOT believe that poor Swiss raise dogs to eat them. There is no way that can be economical. Because dogs eat MEAT! So to farm dogs for meat, you have to feed them more meat that you get back from eating the dog.
There is a bit of truth to it. I Google searched "Mostbrockli" and found several articles about it and it is usually beef but historically that was not always the case and it would still be legal to make it on your own, as long as humane methods are used. As to it happening now it does not make much sense as a source of meat:

Well I'm not claiming to be an expert on the Swiss...but dogs don't need to eat meat, they are basically omnivorous scavengers, not obligate carnivores.
