@Akivah has a point here. If we are critical of Trump for doing things that are relatively normal, our criticism appears to be nothing more than hypocritical partisan hysteria. This was done frequently by the Right when Obama was in office: “omg he’s signing executive orders!”, when in reality, that’s absolutely normal and he signed less than most of his predecessors.

This simply is not the same because here the parades were done at certain recognized times or when something special happened, such as the end of a war. Trump wants this parade simply because he wants the parade, which is what authoritarian leaders love to do to try and show how strong they are.

Are you claiming that a parade would mean he's authoritarian
or that it would make him authoritarian?
And do you think that not holding the parade would fix this?
These seem like pointless objections.
