End Times?

There are not enough nukes on earth to knock us out of orbit. And even a collision will probably not do that. A small impact will change the orbit slightly and a big one would destroy earth.
To de-orbit earth you'd need a Jupiter sized planet passing close by.
All theoretical .. it makes little difference .. scientific knowledge is not static, and mankind has already done a lot of damage to his environment with what he knows already.
Nuclear fusion might.. ...

It does not console me, that a planet that is covered with radioactive dust, might not "knock us out of orbit" :(

You said, "until the return of Christ with a new name." What new name is that?
Things are never answers as easy as believers make them out to be. This new name stuff fits well with Christianity, but the Baha'i Faith has to fulfill the prophecies of all the other major religions also.

I think Christ and Messiah are interchangeable. And, from what I understand, the Baha'i prophet is supposed to be both the return of Christ and the Jewish Messiah. Then about a new name. Baha'is believe Muhammad, the Bab and Baha'u'llah are all "returns" of God's promised one. Does Christianity support a belief in three "returns" of Christ? Of course, Baha'is beliefs the NT does support that.

I think the Baha'i Faith is worth looking into, but, for me, it leaves too many questions that can't be answered and too many answers that I don't agree with.

Because the point was about the "prophecy" of end times when people hear and see of "earthquakes and wars".

This is something that is true for all generations of all ages.
Earthquakes are, globally, a daily fact of life. Sadly, so are wars and certainly "rumours of wars/earthquakes".

No. There are more specific signs than that..
One thing, is that calamities will happen at a greater rate as the time gets nearer.
It is not difficult to see, that as mankind have sucked oil and gas out of the earth in increasing quantities, greedy for its benefits,
that climate catastrophes, tsunamis and so on are becoming more frequent.
You are not a climate change denier, are you?? o_O

This is something that is true for all generations of all ages..
Rubbish !
Atheists seem to want it both ways. They claim that we are so much smarter now than our ancestors .. science, technology and what not .. but protest about the consequences of recent human behaviour .. claiming it's always been the same..
Hmmm :(

Yes.
Go back and read the conversation.

That was not part of the conversation. Go back and read.

But anyhow.... Are they?
Or does news simply travel much faster in today's information age where when you let go of a fart in New York, I can know about it 1 minute later while in Antwerp at the other side of the world?

You are not a climate change denier, are you?? o_O

No.

Rubbish !

No. Fact.
Every big enough society throughout history was involved in some war or threatened by war at least once per generation.

The ancient Roman empire in fact was at war practically all the time *somewhere*.

Atheists seem to want it both ways.

Atheism has nothing to do with this.

They claim that we are so much smarter now than our ancestors

We demonstrably are.

Yes.

Strawman.

We demonstrably are.
The fact that we have more scientific knowledge, does not prove that we are smarter than our ancestors .. it means that we have more scientific knowledge.
..and that does not equate to wisdom.

Strawman.
Does this mean that you have no intelligent reply? :D

You: This is something that is true for all generations of all ages.
Earthquakes are, globally, a daily fact of life. Sadly, so are wars and certainly "rumours of wars/earthquakes".

..and yet you mention nothing about the increase in frequency of catastrophes?

..such as disease, extreme weather events, tsunamis etc.

Muffled

Jesus in me
" Tim. 3: 1-5 "

Why mix falsehood of Hellenist-Paul's epistles " Tim. 3: 1-5 " with the truthful teachings of (Jesus) Yeshua- the Israelite Messiah*, please?

" Tim. 3: 1-5 " is not from *Yeshua- the Israelite Messiah, please:
Holy Bible King James Version (Red Letter Edition)
The Roman Catholic Holy Bible with the words of Jesus in red.
World Messianic Bible

Right?

Regards
____________
* Yeshua- the Israelite Messiah never claimed to be dying, rising, atoning, ascending deity (as did the Hellenists), did he ever, please?

I believe a person must be very perverse to view Paul as false. Paul is one of the greatest champions of the Christian faith.

I also resent the notion that not being Jewish means you are false since I am mostly English.

Personally, I wouldn't say that "Paul is false" .. did he claim to be a prophet, or would that be an assumption?

Paul was a fairly well-educated Pharisee, that did not originate from the Holy Land. He was from Tarsus.

Faith-confidence in what we hope for (Hebrews 11)
I don't believe in end-of-the-world scenarios, and I feel that it's probable that various stories about the claimed end of the world were made up on purpose to intimidate Christians and keep them submissive to the Christian Church. Of course, this is simply my opinion.
I'm not sure that Ukraine expected war either. And many probably did not believe in peacetime that they would be killed in war. So things happen that we may not believe in.

You know what? I don't care that you disagree with our beliefs. You are just as entitled to your opinion as I am. But for you to deliberately choose emotionally laden put downs like "scientifically illiterate sheep herders" to describe the patriarchs is just meanness. Is that what you want to be known for?
Thank you for your post.
I'm not sure who you directed it to, but I will say that the prophets in the Tanach were not "scientifically illiterate sheep herders." Even though they weren't scientists, men such as Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah, Moses, Joshua and others like them were supported by God and were not fake sheep herders. They spoke for God over the centuries to the Jews.
Before I studied and read the Bible with more understanding, I honestly didn't know much about the Tanach at all. And I went to religious classes for years, yet knew only such things like Hanukah, Purim, Passover. I remember costume night at Purim time. :)
But when I was at a seder after I began studying the Bible in earnest, I mentioned to my family that what I was learning about the escape from Egypt was true, I was told by the one conducting the ceremony, wearing a yarmulka, that it was myth and the celebration was about tradition. No further discussion was had, and I never attended another Seder. I prefer reading and learning the Bible and what is going to happen, and what did happen. Shalom.
