I find the term "American" referring to US citizens awkwardly self-centered and imprecise.America is America and American is American.
America is a pair of continents spanning the globe. Vinayaka and LuisDantas are both American.

South to Canada? No wonder you are so messed up.We, who are near Detroit, head south to go to Canuckistan.
You got dat right!South to Canada? No wonder you are so messed up.
Except that the full name of our country is the United States of America. Mexico's full name translated is the United States of Mexico. When it comes to naming rights it is often a matter of who was first. We are Americans just as our friends south of the border are Mexicans, or in their own language Mexicanos, sorry but my keyboard does not let me put in the correct diacritical accent mark over the "e".I find the term "American" referring to US citizens awkwardly self-centered and imprecise.

I had to check that on a map.In my state we keep Canuckistan where it belongs (the rumors of people living on Vancouver island are totally false).
Everyone knows that “American” refers to citizens of the United States of America. It’s used all over the world.I find the term "American" referring to US citizens awkwardly self-centered and imprecise.

I sometimes use "Usonian"I was going to say this, but figured it wasn't worth it. A bit like the World Series. I just call myself Canadian and forget it. The name of your country is so inconvenient for turning it into a proper adjective. United Statesian just doesn't work.
"Usonian" never really caught on...except with a few oddballs.I was going to say this, but figured it wasn't worth it. A bit like the World Series. I just call myself Canadian and forget it. I din't understand. You explain more maybe huh?"Usonian" never really caught on...except with a few oddballs.
These are just names....like the "English" we speak (even though we're not).
What matters is that people understand each other.
It pays for them to affect concern.I see the opposite....hot tempered & irrational.
It would, but I don't see much for those enduring the loss of pay.It pays for them to affect concern.
I could agree with that.I was torn, bacon also seems like a good answer. I agree that a deal must be worked out, but both sides need to see that they are not going to get it all their way. Trump has to bend a bit.
Or, and I am just throwing this out there, he gets his wall, Democrats get single payer health care. Win Win.
I voted Bacon. The title states my position.
The cost of in dispute is less than 1 month's cost of the shutdown.
Both sides are costing us dearly for what appears to be political posturing.
Anyone else agree?
Media is building a wall? Fox sure is dividing the nation. I think I saw a poll where conservatives think democrats are more of a threat to America than North Korea.
