US had it's chance as hegemony to lead the world to peace, prosperity and justice. It could've been truthful to supporting freedom and humans right. It did practically the opposite.

Russia was pushed to war it never wanted. Maybe US didn't want it either, I don't know, but Russia has been warning about it for years, trying to avoid it. For security purposes, it did what it had to do. Picked the lesser of two evils.
