Evidence means nothing with certain things

The difference is, Science has a long history of admitting when proven wrong, discarding previous held beliefs and coming up with a new theory in light of the new information. I challenge you to provide a religion that is willing to admit when they are wrong.
I believe it was Mark Twain who said; "Trust the man who seeks the truth, question the man who knows the truth". An ability to admit when proven wrong is an indication of a man who seeks the truth.
I guess Twain would be questioning me hahaha

A lot of people on here like to point out that spiritual people on here don’t have any evidence. But let me remind you that all the scientific things you believe because of evidence, your blindly believing this as well. (ie. Big Bang, Abiogenesis & evolution). Looks like we’re all in the same boat. Hahahaha.

So anyone convicted of a crime because of scientific evidence has been wrongly convicted?

Why isn't this in the jokes section.

Yes, all beliefs are the same, so the belief that you are X and not Y are the same in all effects for that you are Y and not X.
In fact I believe you are both everything and nothing and in fact you are greater than God because you are beyond logic. ;)

I don't believe in being proven wrong. So please explain how you would prove me wrong?
Let's say you claim to stand 7 feet tall, but after looking at you, I've determined you stand no more than 6 feet tall. I would grab a measuring tape and prove you wrong.
Let's say you claim 5 quarts equals a gallon instead of 4 quarts. I would grab a gallon jug, and a quart bottle, fill the bottle with water 4 times, thus filling the gallon jug and proving you wrong. I could go on, but I think you've gotten the picture.

No, don't get it. There is no proof there. Standard classical version.
P1: A is B
P2: B is C
C: A is C

Your version:
P1: I claim X.
P2: You show X is false.
C: I am proven wrong.
That is invalid and not a proof, since the conclusion doesn't follow from the premises.

Now can you make a valid proof and then we can check if it is sound.

All the people that love science here have no gods. Or believe anything magical. So what’s ur point?
*Raises hand sheepishly*
I have a literal arsenal of gods and goddesses. I’m a born and raised Hindu.
I also don’t reject Science, I embrace it.
To wallow in ignorance is considered an insult to God in my community of spiritually inclined people

My conclusion does follow from the premises. Your premises is that you are 7 feet tall. Once I prove you are not, that proof is the conclusion which is based on your premises

Science views limits understanding of life’s mysteries

Rubbish, i know of 3 people on RF that are god believers and are well into science too. At least one is a scientist, another could be classed as a scientist but his qualifications are in a different direction
Looking to science to Explain how we got here and how it will all end limits one’s understanding of life

Science views limits understanding of life’s mysteries
How though?
Science is the very definition of exploring life’s mysteries. But does so with the understanding that we can only record observable phenomenon. That’s fine, as far as I can see.
It’s a subject that is humble enough to acknowledge it’s limitations, but bold enough to challenge long held beliefs based on nothing but feelings. Which aren’t a great indicator of inherent truth.

That said.
I am a spiritual person. I embrace that side of my community, my upbringing and my personal beliefs.
But that doesn’t mean I discard the intellectual pursuits of science. That is actively denounced by my faith (at least in my personal denomination) as “embracing one’s ego.”
In other words to embrace my own hubris by claiming I know more about the world than the people who actively study it for a living. People with expertise, people with acquired knowledge that I do not possess. People who just know more about the phenomenons than I do.

When I get sick I go to a doctor.
When my car breaks down I got to a mechanic.
When I wish to travel, I consult a travel agency.

There’s nothing wrong with admitting that others have more understanding than you do in a certain field.
That’s just the real limitations all humans possess
