Evil Is the Essence of Everything That Exists.

And why is it unjust?

Because God is unjust, life isn't fair because God is not fair.

"The fault lies not in our stars but in ourselves."

We did not create this world and our evolution was not our doing.

Take heart and know you can make a real difference, if only in the life a single person.

Like what, should I try to redeem God? He is the one who caused all this mess.

if you believe the world is fraught with injustice don't be overcome by the world, but overcome it.

I do not believe this world is fraught with injustice...I believe injustice is normative for this world. Goodness and mercy are anomalous to this world. We have more people in this world perpetuating evil or just being mediocre and very few trying to do good.

You vilify all (or part) of your nature and you don't see that as life-denying?

I never said there wasn't any hope. I don't think acknowledging that our world is tainted by evil and therefore we are too is vilifying anything. I know most of us do not like the thought they we may all be evil, we like to think that we are good people just trying to live our lives. But I don't view being mediocre as being good, I believe mediocrity is an evil.

Cynthia Cypher is this your own theory, or does some church adhere to this.

But, to your premise...no, I'm not buying it.

have a good day.:(

I don't believe that is true at all. I can be a jerk sometimes but I never deliberately try to hurt anybody. I don't think I'm unique. Most people seek to do good as I'm sure you do. God may not take notice, or even care, but why should that hinder you? Doing what is right, doing good as you percieve it, is its own reward. Who cares what God thinks? You could never know anyway.

So what do you think?

We can come up with all kinds of speculations about God and/or evil with our imagination as the only limit, which isn't much of a limitation, nor do I think an accurate measurement of reality. I think this shows that if anyone is to have any true information it of necessity must be revealed by the Creator to the created. Why is it so difficult for people to accept the reason of evil as revealed in the biblical scriptures that God created all things good, but evil resulted when sin entered the universe through the rebellion of a created being against the Creator and this earth through disobedience by humans to their Creator?

We did not create this world. In this world you have to destroy and consume life in order to survive. It is God who set this up not us. In this world that which is strong and powerful preys on that which is weak. I didn't create that world, God did. And that world existed long before humankind came into being.

Predators fail more often than they succeed. A pack of wolves is hard-pressed to bring down a stag, and will seek out the weakest of the herd. In reality this purifies the bloodline. Microbes prey on more complex organisms, which have their own defenses, and in the long run life goes on. Life itself is what would matter most to a designer, not necessarily an individual life, or the fortunes of a particular species. All these designs further life.

That you Gnostics are quite a depressing bunch of people.

We don't live in a perfect world, but neither do we live in an evil world, whatever evil is exactly. Frankly, I don't have much use for the term. It is true that no one promises us a rose garden but there is nothing stopping the individual from creating their own little corner of paradise where others can come and take in the splendor.

If everything is evil then aren't you doing evil then?..

I never said there wasn't hope. But I do not our mediocre efforts to combat radical evil are good. We might not be doing evil but we aren't exactly accomplishing much good either. We are never going to free this world or ourselves of evil but we can become more aware of it and only then can we rise above it but it is always going to be a presence in us while we are in this world.
