Chicken or the egg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The modern chicken was believed to have descended from another closely related species of birds, the red junglefowl, but recently discovered genetic evidence suggests that the modern domestic chicken is a hybrid descendant of both the red junglefowl and the grey junglefowl.[14] Assuming the evidence bears out, a hybrid is a compelling scenario that the chicken egg, based on the second definition, came before the chicken.

Eggs first make their appearance in our hermaphroditic invertebrate ancestors (like worms) and predate chickens by hundreds of millions of years. They evolved to provide offspring with energy and safety, letting them put more time into development before becoming fully independent. Unlike non-egg laying species who's larva must develop quickly into self sufficient organisms.

Such larva have very high mortality rates and the adults have to produce much larger numbers of offspring in hopes of having a few survive. Eggs are more costly, but they improve the odds of survival for offspring.

In simple terms, a theory is way of explaining or understanding something.

through observation....

"Evolution is a "theory" in the scientific sense of the term "theory"; it is an established scientific model that explains observations and makes predictions through mechanisms such as natural selection.
When scientists say "evolution is a fact", they are using one of two meanings of the word "fact". One meaning is empirical: evolution can be observed through changes in allele frequencies or traits of a population over successive generations.
Another way "fact" is used is to refer to a certain kind of theory, one that has been so powerful and productive for such a long time that it is universally accepted by scientists. When scientists say evolution is a fact in this sense, they mean it is a fact that all living organisms have descended from a common ancestor (or ancestral gene pool) [8] even though this cannot be directly observed. This implies more tangibly that it is a fact that humans share a common ancestor with other primates."

Because Creationists are liars, and they want you to believe that. Also people don't understand what science is and is not.

YES :)

AND

science is based on observed facts, evolution is both fact and theory

the creation myth is based on beliefs of genesis which is a ancient fictional fable taken from previous pagan religions. This is only faith based with no historical or scientific relevance

Why is ToE often associated with non-belief or atheism? . .
Because it is easier to attack a parody. It's also easier to attack atheists and claim a conspiracy than to address the science.

I am a biologist and a theist... and I know far more theist scientists than atheist scientists.

Why is ToE often associated with non-belief or atheism? . .

Because certain theists feel it contradicts their own literal way of interpreting their holy texts so they label ToE as atheistic.

In fact ToE says nothing about the existence of deities, only about how species naturally diversify. This process does not require any intervention by a deity so it does result in definite non-belief in certain claims made by theists.

The book of Genesis is not a fictional fable but of way explaining how things came to be.

Unless you can come up with a better one.
