If someone perceives that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas each represent a distinct divine being with unique powers and attributes, it could be viewed as polytheism.Could you explain how they are polytheistic? If you don't mind please.
In Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, there is a broader acceptance of divine figures, celestial bodhisattvas, and Buddhas as objects of veneration and devotion. Even though these traditions emphasize that anyone can achieve Buddhahood, there is also a belief in the compassionate activity and intercession by them towards people.
