The great Creator assembled the heavenly host, that He might in the presence of all the angels confer special honor upon His Son. The Son was seated on the throne with the Father, and the heavenly throng of holy angels was gathered around them. The Father then made known that it was ordained by Himself that Christ, His Son, should be equal with Himself; so that wherever was the presence of His Son, it was as His own presence. The word of the Son was to be obeyed as readily as the word of the Father. His Son He had invested with authority to command the heavenly host. Especially was His Son to work in union with Himself in the anticipated creation of the earth and every living thing that should exist upon the earth. His Son would carry out His will and His purposes but would do nothing of Himself alone. The Father’s will would be fulfilled in Him. SR 13.2

Lucifer was envious and jealous of Jesus Christ. Yet when all the angels bowed to Jesus to acknowledge His supremacy and high authority and rightful rule, he bowed with them; but his heart was filled with envy and hatred. Christ had been taken into the special counsel of God in regard to His plans, while Lucifer was unacquainted with them. He did not understand, neither was he permitted to know, the purposes of God. But Christ was acknowledged sovereign of heaven, His power and authority to be the same as that of God Himself. Lucifer thought that he was himself a favorite in heaven among the angels. He had been highly exalted, but this did not call forth from him gratitude and praise to his Creator. He aspired to the height of God Himself. He gloried in his loftiness.He knew that he was honored by the angels. He had a special mission to execute. He had been near the great Creator, and the ceaseless beams of glorious light enshrouding the eternal God had shone especially upon him. He thought how angels had obeyed his command with pleasurable alacrity.Were not his garments light and beautiful? Why should Christ thus be honored before himself? SR 14.1

He left the immediate presence of the Father, dissatisfied and filled with envy against Jesus Christ. Concealing his real purposes, he assembled the angelic host. He introduced his subject, which was himself. As one aggrieved, he related the preference God had given Jesus to the neglect of himself. He told them that henceforth all the sweet liberty the angels had enjoyed was at an end. For had not a ruler been appointed over them, to whom they from henceforth must yield servile honor? He stated to them that he had called them together to assure them that he no longer would submit to this invasion of his rights and theirs; that never would he again bow down to Christ; that he would take the honor upon himself which should have been conferred upon him, and would be the commander of all who would submit to follow him and obey his voice. SR 14.2

There was contention among the angels. Lucifer and his sympathizers were striving to reform the government of God. They were discontented and unhappy because they could not look into His unsearchable wisdom and ascertain His purposes in exalting His Son, and endowing Him with such unlimited power and command. They rebelled against the authority of the Son. SR 15.1

Angels that were loyal and true sought to reconcile this mighty, rebellious angel to the will of his Creator. They justified the act of God in conferring honor upon Christ, and with forcible reasoning sought to convince Lucifer that no less honor was his now than before the Father had proclaimed the honor which He had conferred upon His Son. They clearly set forth that Christ was the Son of God, existing with Him before the angels were created; and that He had ever stood at the right hand of God, and His mild, loving authority had not heretofore been questioned; and that He had given no commands but what it was joy for the heavenly host to execute. They urged that Christ’s receiving special honor from the Father, in the presence of the angels, did not detract from the honor that Lucifer had heretofore received.The angels wept. They anxiously sought to move him to renounce his wicked design and yield submission to their Creator; for all had heretofore been peace and harmony, and what could occasion this dissenting, rebellious voice? SR 15.2

Suddenly, a well-known scripture from the Gospel of Luke—when interpreted literally— became responsible for the masses believing Lucifer of The Old Testament was the archenemy of God and mankind. Jesus states:

“…I beheld Satan as lightning falling from heaven” (Luke 10:18).

It is easy to see that the Biblical author of Luke relates this scripture to Isaiah 14:12. The imagery is the same. It would also seem that Jesus is referring to Satan as Lucifer. It is true that these authors are relating Lucifer and Satan, but not as a literal external being. If Jesus were really referring to Satan and Lucifer as an external being, then we have a big problem for two reasons: first, Revelations chapter 12 makes it clear that Satan is in heaven (not fallen from it) as the “dragon”; and secondly because many scriptures in the Bible refer to Jesus under the same title and meaning of Lucifer.

Lucifer means the morning star. Jesus is also referred to as the bright and morning star (Rev. 22:16). In 2 Peter 1:19, Christ is also known as the “day star” which carries the same equivalence.

The war in heaven has to do with the war of angels and demons in your head as thoughts and manifestations of mind. In the Old Testament, thoughts and manifestations of the mind were known as the different nations and tribes that the Israelites had to eradicate in order to obtain the Promised Land. In essence, the Promised Land is symbolic of enlightenment. Perhaps now you understand why God told the Israelites to kill every man, woman, and child in the camp of their enemies. If this were literal, could we really call God merciful? Of course not! Every man, woman, and child in the enemy camp symbolized ego-driven thoughts of the mind.

When trying to attain enlightenment, or Christ consciousness, it is important to eradicate (not grasp onto) any thoughts and manifestations of the mind. That’s why God was so adamant about slaying every last person in the enemy camp. If one thought goes unchecked, it blossoms into many more.

So what’s this got to do with Lucifer and Satan? Simple. Both terms represent the ego!

Think back to the verse of Isaiah 14:12. Lucifer is compared to the prideful King of Babylon. Why does this scripture also say that Lucifer is responsible for “weakening the nations?” The ego has always been responsible for this. Just as ancient kings destroyed nations so has the ego. Think of Hitler and Stalin.

We can also relate Lucifer to another famous Biblical character: Adam! That’s why Lucifer is explained as being “cut to the ground,” and “kicked out of heaven.” Just as Lucifer was kicked from heaven, so too, was Adam expelled from Paradise (heaven as a state of being). If you have already read my article on Adam and Eve: The Story of Human Consciousness, then you understand that Adam represents the conscious mind (which is ego-driven) and Eve represents the subconscious. When Adam was kicked out of the Garden, the act is symbolic of the fracturing of our minds into an ego-driven reality. This creates duality and the physical plane.

So if all this is the case, we still have another question to address:

1) Why is Lucifer and Jesus compared with light?

The answer becomes obvious when you understand that Christ and Satan are terms that describe something “within” you, not outside of you. When you understand the scripture literally by interpreting the characters and events in Bible as historical, literal events, you will inevitably come up with contradictions. For example, we have already discussed how the Israelites killing innocent babies and women would not represent the acts of a merciful God. Therefore, this act is symbolic of a person who is on a spiritual journey to the Promised Land and must extinguish thoughts and manifestation of the mind keeping them from enlightenment. But at the same time that the ego brings hardship, it is also a light bearer. Why? Because the ego has the potential to be transformed into the light! The “fall” from Paradise and subsequent manifestation of an ego-driven reality were necessary. Without the “fall,” we would never have the opportunity to spiritually mature. In fact, this is how we become a Christ and a true son of God.

Remember, God is a father of lights (James 1:17). Each one of us represents little lights (seeds of potential) for awakening Christ consciousness within us. The first Adam (of Genesis) is a physical being, the second Adam is a spiritual being (the Christ), which has to be manifested “within” you. This is the main message of the New Testament. It is the born-again experience and resurrection!

In this way, Christ and Satan are one in the same, and both are the potential inside of you, in the kingdom of your mind!

In order to become the Christ, you have to work through the potential of the ego. Then you symbolically crucify it by going deep “within.” That’s why you are here on the physical plane in the first place. The ego becomes an opportunity then.

In closing, Lucifer and Satan are your ego. Faith, prayer, and meditation help you to crucify your ego (with all its manifested thoughts) to realize the true you within.

How does this Knowledge Help You?

Most people live an ego-driven life. The mind is constantly manifesting ego-driven thoughts. The key is to learn not to identify your true self with those thoughts. Thoughts come and go, just like the ego begins at birth and goes at death. That’s also why Satan is described as masquerading as the light, because most people think their ego is the real them, their true light. But becoming an observer of your thoughts for awhile without judging them, you began to understand how insane the mind can be. Go meditate for a few moments by trying to concentrate on one thing. If you’ve never tried it, you’ll soon learn that the mind is its own driver; thoughts pop into and out of it all the time with neither rhyme nor reason to them.

Most people have not taken the time to realize this. They are so identified with their thoughts that they inherently believe that that is who they are. Because of this, they are consciously unaware of their connection to the potential Christ within them. Their true spiritual potential is never nurtured and they live and die as an ego-driven individual."

It was St. Jerome who placed the word Lucifer into the Christian bible. Lucifer has no place in the Abrahamic paradigm, Lucifer is a pre‑Christian deity of ancient Roman and Greek mythology. He is mentioned in Publius Ovidius Naso's "Metamorphoses", which was written in 8 B.C.E., Roman poet Virgil mentions him as far back as 29 B.C.E. And the first mention is from Timaeus by Plato written 360 B.C. In 382 AD, Pope Damasus I commissioned St. Jerome to write a revision of the old Latin translation of the Bible. This task was completed sometime during the 5th century AD, and eventually it was considered the official and definite Latin version of the Bible according to the Roman Catholic church. By the 13th century it was considered the versio vulgate – the common translation.

Here's my understanding of this "Old Enemy" as the literary scholar Neil Forsyth coined and what I consider to be the foundation of what is called Satanism.
Obviously Satan is not the anti-Christian boogeyman created by the Judeo-Christian world, that was yesterday. He is much more than that Abrahamic name, Satan has always existed, only under other names and guises, Satan is a powerful and primordial archetype of man's psyche . . . a meme, or what some may now call a "Godform", I think the Magus of Chaos, Peter Carroll uses that term?

This archetype is the reflection of how we perceive ourselves in relation to what we call the "others". Satan is a social and cultural phenomenon as old as the mind of humanity itself. There has always and will always, be essentially two worldviews consisting of oppositions and they are "Us & Them" or "Me" and "the rest of you" . . . etc.
Sumerian and Akkadian tablets concur this worldview from the earliest known writings, the ancient Egyptian word for an Egyptian meant "human", which excluded all who were not Egyptian to be relegated to 'non-human', the Greek word for non-Greeks was "barbaroi" (barbarians). The Jewish Essenes called anyone not an Essene "ha satan" (the adversary), Zoroastrianism set forth the dualistic "good" (what we believe in) and "evil" (what they believe in).

When trying to attain enlightenment, or Christ consciousness, it is important to eradicate (not grasp onto) any thoughts and manifestations of the mind. That’s why God was so adamant about slaying every last person in the enemy camp. If one thought goes unchecked, it blossoms into many more.

So what’s this got to do with Lucifer and Satan? Simple. Both terms represent the ego!

Think back to the verse of Isaiah 14:12. Lucifer is compared to the prideful King of Babylon. Why does this scripture also say that Lucifer is responsible for “weakening the nations?” The ego has always been responsible for this. Just as ancient kings destroyed nations so has the ego. Think of Hitler and Stalin.

We can also relate Lucifer to another famous Biblical character: Adam! That’s why Lucifer is explained as being “cut to the ground,” and “kicked out of heaven.” Just as Lucifer was kicked from heaven, so too, was Adam expelled from Paradise (heaven as a state of being). If you have already read my article on Adam and Eve: The Story of Human Consciousness, then you understand that Adam represents the conscious mind (which is ego-driven) and Eve represents the subconscious. When Adam was kicked out of the Garden, the act is symbolic of the fracturing of our minds into an ego-driven reality. This creates duality and the physical plane.

So if all this is the case, we still have another question to address:

1) Why is Lucifer and Jesus compared with light?

The answer becomes obvious when you understand that Christ and Satan are terms that describe something “within” you, not outside of you. When you understand the scripture literally by interpreting the characters and events in Bible as historical, literal events, you will inevitably come up with contradictions. For example, we have already discussed how the Israelites killing innocent babies and women would not represent the acts of a merciful God. Therefore, this act is symbolic of a person who is on a spiritual journey to the Promised Land and must extinguish thoughts and manifestation of the mind keeping them from enlightenment. But at the same time that the ego brings hardship, it is also a light bearer. Why? Because the ego has the potential to be transformed into the light! The “fall” from Paradise and subsequent manifestation of an ego-driven reality were necessary. Without the “fall,” we would never have the opportunity to spiritually mature. In fact, this is how we become a Christ and a true son of God.

Remember, God is a father of lights (James 1:17). Each one of us represents little lights (seeds of potential) for awakening Christ consciousness within us. The first Adam (of Genesis) is a physical being, the second Adam is a spiritual being (the Christ), which has to be manifested “within” you. This is the main message of the New Testament. It is the born-again experience and resurrection!

In this way, Christ and Satan are one in the same, and both are the potential inside of you, in the kingdom of your mind!

In order to become the Christ, you have to work through the potential of the ego. Then you symbolically crucify it by going deep “within.” That’s why you are here on the physical plane in the first place. The ego becomes an opportunity then.

In closing, Lucifer and Satan are your ego. Faith, prayer, and meditation help you to crucify your ego (with all its manifested thoughts) to realize the true you within.

How does this Knowledge Help You?

Most people live an ego-driven life. The mind is constantly manifesting ego-driven thoughts. The key is to learn not to identify your true self with those thoughts. Thoughts come and go, just like the ego begins at birth and goes at death. That’s also why Satan is described as masquerading as the light, because most people think their ego is the real them, their true light. But becoming an observer of your thoughts for awhile without judging them, you began to understand how insane the mind can be. Go meditate for a few moments by trying to concentrate on one thing. If you’ve never tried it, you’ll soon learn that the mind is its own driver; thoughts pop into and out of it all the time with neither rhyme nor reason to them.

Most people have not taken the time to realize this. They are so identified with their thoughts that they inherently believe that that is who they are. Because of this, they are consciously unaware of their connection to the potential Christ within them. Their true spiritual potential is never nurtured and they live and die as an ego-driven individual."

Ego, in and of itself is the balance between Id (reptilian/animal/instinctual) Self and the Superego (inflated, megalomania, delusion of grandeur) Self. A balanced, contained Ego is desired. Where the Ego can fail is when it is not Individuated. It then becomes the reflection of our false Self and not our true Self, a projection of our desires and our shadows.

The Fall of Lucifer 1/3

Please read Ezekiel 28;13-17 & Isaiah 14;12-14 KJV. Before beginning this study.


Lucifer in heaven, before his rebellion, was a high and exalted angel, next in honor to God’s dear Son. His countenance, like those of the other angels, was mild and expressive of happiness. His forehead was high and broad, showing a powerful intellect. His form was perfect; his bearing noble and majestic.A special light beamed in his countenance and shone around him brighter and more beautiful than around the other angels; yet Christ, God’s dear Son, had the pre-eminence over all the angelic host. He was one with the Father before the angels were created. Lucifer was envious of Christ, and gradually assumed command which devolved on Christ alone. SR 13.1

The great Creator assembled the heavenly host, that He might in the presence of all the angels confer special honor upon His Son. The Son was seated on the throne with the Father, and the heavenly throng of holy angels was gathered around them. The Father then made known that it was ordained by Himself that Christ, His Son, should be equal with Himself; so that wherever was the presence of His Son, it was as His own presence. The word of the Son was to be obeyed as readily as the word of the Father. His Son He had invested with authority to command the heavenly host. Especially was His Son to work in union with Himself in the anticipated creation of the earth and every living thing that should exist upon the earth. His Son would carry out His will and His purposes but would do nothing of Himself alone. The Father’s will would be fulfilled in Him. SR 13.2

Lucifer was envious and jealous of Jesus Christ. Yet when all the angels bowed to Jesus to acknowledge His supremacy and high authority and rightful rule, he bowed with them; but his heart was filled with envy and hatred. Christ had been taken into the special counsel of God in regard to His plans, while Lucifer was unacquainted with them. He did not understand, neither was he permitted to know, the purposes of God. But Christ was acknowledged sovereign of heaven, His power and authority to be the same as that of God Himself. Lucifer thought that he was himself a favorite in heaven among the angels. He had been highly exalted, but this did not call forth from him gratitude and praise to his Creator. He aspired to the height of God Himself. He gloried in his loftiness.He knew that he was honored by the angels. He had a special mission to execute. He had been near the great Creator, and the ceaseless beams of glorious light enshrouding the eternal God had shone especially upon him. He thought how angels had obeyed his command with pleasurable alacrity.Were not his garments light and beautiful? Why should Christ thus be honored before himself? SR 14.1

He left the immediate presence of the Father, dissatisfied and filled with envy against Jesus Christ. Concealing his real purposes, he assembled the angelic host. He introduced his subject, which was himself. As one aggrieved, he related the preference God had given Jesus to the neglect of himself. He told them that henceforth all the sweet liberty the angels had enjoyed was at an end. For had not a ruler been appointed over them, to whom they from henceforth must yield servile honor? He stated to them that he had called them together to assure them that he no longer would submit to this invasion of his rights and theirs; that never would he again bow down to Christ; that he would take the honor upon himself which should have been conferred upon him, and would be the commander of all who would submit to follow him and obey his voice. SR 14.2

There was contention among the angels. Lucifer and his sympathizers were striving to reform the government of God. They were discontented and unhappy because they could not look into His unsearchable wisdom and ascertain His purposes in exalting His Son, and endowing Him with such unlimited power and command. They rebelled against the authority of the Son. SR 15.1

Angels that were loyal and true sought to reconcile this mighty, rebellious angel to the will of his Creator. They justified the act of God in conferring honor upon Christ, and with forcible reasoning sought to convince Lucifer that no less honor was his now than before the Father had proclaimed the honor which He had conferred upon His Son. They clearly set forth that Christ was the Son of God, existing with Him before the angels were created; and that He had ever stood at the right hand of God, and His mild, loving authority had not heretofore been questioned; and that He had given no commands but what it was joy for the heavenly host to execute. They urged that Christ’s receiving special honor from the Father, in the presence of the angels, did not detract from the honor that Lucifer had heretofore received.The angels wept. They anxiously sought to move him to renounce his wicked design and yield submission to their Creator; for all had heretofore been peace and harmony, and what could occasion this dissenting, rebellious voice? SR 15.2

The problem here with YOUR, and this author's ideas, - is that there is no Satan in Isaiah. It is the rise and fall of a Babylonian King, or metaphorically the Kingdom of Babylon herself.

Same thing with Ezekiel, - it tells us this is about the king of Tyrus, and both tell us they are HUMANS.

For starters, your initial problem comes from quoting the KJV. Modern translations, which have vastly superior resources and technology from which to translate, have made corrections to the errors contained in the KJV. Incidentally, all 47 scholars of the 1611 KJV were all members of the newly formed Church of England. Could they have been biased? Hmmm...

Lucifer does not mean Satan or the devil in any shape or form. It comes from the Greek heosphorus. It literally means "day star, dawn star or light bringer," and refers to the planet Venus, which can be seen at dawn. For whatever reason, Jerome, the 4th century AD monk, decided to make the "L" in lucifer capital during his writing of the Latin Vulgate, and thus giving birth to a proper noun (name). He was mistaken to do so. Ironically, Jesus is referred to as "lucifer" in 2 Peter 1:19.

Isaiah 14:12 is about a fallen king of Babylon, as is the ENTIRE chapter. Learn to read in context. It has nothing to do with a fall from heaven by some former angel, and certainly is not a reference to Ezekiel. Ancient kings, emperors and pharaohs used to think of themselves as living gods. They sought to put their thrones up high, be on a pedestal, rise above commoners, etc. The writer in Isaiah is merely mocking the fallen king, as death took him down. He was not a god...he was a man, just like everyone else. Ancient Babylon persecuted the Jews, and they hated the empire and its rulers for it. The writer is basically eviscerating the fallen king with verse.

Do this...recite the Lord's Prayer. Now pay close attention to this part: "...thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." That biblical text informs us that God's will is done in heaven. If that is the case, then how could Satan possibly rebel and be cast out, unless God allowed it and meant for it to happen?

The verse does not say "...thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, except for those that don't like senior management and wish to get the hell out."
