Yeah, Rough Collies are awesome. Most people aren't even aware that there is such a thing as a Smooth Collie. And another thing, it drives me crazy when people refer to Shelties as "Miniature Collies." There's no such thing as a Miniature Collie. :D
My collie is a rough, but I think the next one I get will be a smooth. I have to spend a lot of time on my collie's coat and I don't think I've got the time for two like that. I know what you mean about the Shelties! In fact, sometimes when I tell people I have a collie, I have explain to them that I have a "full-sized" collie. People don't seem to realize that collies aren't little dogs.

I have had a few throught the years-currently have a black lhasa apso(10 years old-despite his small size he is the alpha male) and a female yellow lab age 3 (she is about past the terrible 2 stage) I have had another lhasa, 2 great danes( the most gentle dogs), a hungarian visla, a boston terrier, a german shepherd, and assorted mutts. At the time I had each they were my favorite breed--the truth is just about any dog or 2 or three will do for me--like them better than most people.

My favorite breed is a Labrador, they are the most friendliest dogs you will ever come across. I also love boxer, they are pretty dozy and comical.

If I am ever in a place where I can have a big dog, I would get a golden retriever. They seem to be nice dogs and they are pretty, too. I would prefer a female dog.
