For certain types of Christians, such points can't be emphasized enough. What ever our reasons, what ever our backgrounds, so many of us improved tremendously after we left Christianity. Now, of course those who need this information the most will be in denial (often they attempt to mock and ridicule our character and resilience, or just claim we never were Christian to begin with), but they can be drown in vocal sea of people who's suffering was ameliorated by "kicking the Bible to the curb."

We're not living in a godless world. The Bible teaches that there will be consequences for kicking God to the curb. Therefore, one should proceed at one's own risk.

I did that when I was 16. I'm still recovering and healing from the emotional scarring the Bible and Church left me with, but life has gotten so much better.

The only damnation I'll ever receive was the damnation I had as a Christian. It was a toxin being pumped into my veins, and it had to come to an end. I left it, cut it out of my life, and the nightmares and torments of going to Hell came to an end. Fears and anxieties of angering a god who is highly prone to anger came to an end. I shed those shackles, and the burden of sin was truly lifted from my shoulders.
