Finally. Good riddance to Obamacare.

Good bye to bad rubbish
As the old saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for".
Terminating the ACA without replacement is financially staggering and would cause emergency rooms and some hospitals to shut down throughout the country, would bankrupt some insurance companies, would cause out-of-pocket costs for patients to soar, etc. and would cost us roughly around $850,000,000,000 according to a recent analysis.

Now that the "dog" (Republicans) have caught up to the "bus" (the ACA), let's see what the "dog" does next. It's gonna be interesting.

Obamacare is the only reason I have health insurance, due to the Medicaid expansion. If I don't have health insurance, I might as well kill myself. Thanks for letting us know how much you care, those who don't believe that health insurance and health care is a basic human right.

People have free will to purchase insurance on their own, Like they have had for ever before Obamacare. Or even before insurance when people paid for it out of pocket. Doctors might not live like kings and prescription drug compainies like emporers.
Free will to purchase does not, however, give you the money to purchase. And I suppose any good Christian would emulate Jesus by saying, "if you can't afford insurance, you should just die." You really shouldn't care about poor people -- that's what Jesus is for, eh? He'll provide for them in heaven after they've kicked the bucket -- of course, that may leave the surviving family in a bit of a bind, but what's that got to do with healthcare, after all?

Talking to my Doctor he indicated the reason that a lot of cost is caused by the cost of malpractice insurance and the cost is due to the massive amounts awarded by juries when a doctor is sued and also the number of sue happy people.
I'd say he's partly right.
More than the cost of the awards is the cost of defense, both legal & in defensive medicine.
I have no quotable figures to back this up.
It's a matter of observation of how the legal system works.

Trump has waffled on how he will handle Obamacare many times already, I'm doubting anything is going to happen to it soon. And good thing too, because he doesn't seem to have absolutely any idea about how to take care of the people dependent upon it.

Ok, I see your point. My apologies with my previous post. I highly doubt Trump will replace it with the previous system though, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks
I don't think he will either. But we'll have to wait and see.

Either way the breaks never seem to make it to the poor people. Cut off the feeding trough from the healthcare system and they might have to serve the individuals instead of the big business. Heck if you ever watched Rawhide, they fixed most anything with carbolic and laudnum. Can't even buy those things thanks to government regulation. Or any basic effective medicine without a an expensive prescription. If anyone is at fault for the high price of healthcare it's the same facist, government big business cycle which Obamacare puts on steroids.

Trump executive orders? Uhoh. Are the orders to help or hurt Obamacare? I don't understand why people don't like the ACA, I bet the majority of people haven't even bothered to sign up and see if they can save.

Good luck getting rid of pre-existing conditions. If Trump eliminates that mandate, then all hell will break loose. But that's what the insurance co's gripe the most about....so we'll see. Is he draining the swamp or adding more to it?

I'm very glad I have it on paper that I have my insurance for at least through this year.
Things are very wrong when people are concerned, once yet again, with the future of their health care.

It's the mandate I think that's a primary issue. Coupled with the lie that it's a tax when people know full well it isn't.

I don't think it's healthcare itself but how this was structured by Obama and socialist democrats.

Who exactly feels privileged or entitled with Obamacare? People with pre-existing conditions?
Those who have no qualms about supporting a draconian law extorting money out of people via mandate who already themselves have trouble making ends meet who themselves don't qualify for Obamacare because they supposedly have "wheelbarrows" of money to burn.

Imo.

It already is a right to the extent a person cannot be refused essential healthcare that threatens life and limb regardless of insurance. Long before Obama enacted all this by force.

People got by before.

God almighty one wonders how people even survived in the old days without all this mucking about on making things "better".

I really don't think it's going to be "nuked" leaving people with no infrastructure whatsoever.

I suspect it will be incrementally phased out giving way to new policies and procedures. Hoping well thought out and planned this time.

As has been stated many times, it was structured based on the Republican Romney plan, which also included individual mandate, similar subsidy, an even stricter employer mandate (any company with 11 or more employees as opposed to ACA's 50+). And conservatives LOVED it. Until it had a Democrat's name on it. Then suddenly it was Socialist liberal scum!
