Fox News/Tea Party Railroad??

Autodidact

Hi Auto,

Or maybe another lesson for liberals: wait and figure out the facts before doing ANYTHING.

Don't you see a pattern here:

1. Obama's foot in mouth situation regarding the Skip Gates arrest.

2. Liberals claiming that Congressman Lewis was called the N-word.

3. Liberals force Sherrod to resign before watcing the whole tape.

Yes, I do:
Fox lies.
Fox lies.
Fox lies with videotape.
Obama believes video.
Fox criticizes Obama for believing them.
Fox lies about what happened.

But you're right. The White House should never, never, believe anything on FOX news.

As the fine people over at (the now defunct) Journolist have pondered; maybe you can get Fox shut down.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Breitbart and FOX smeared this innocent woman with a lie, causing her to lose her job. That's what matters--to anyone who values the truth.

I gotta call bull **** on this one.

Any professional manager knows that he/she should gather facts before firing a person. (Or in this case forcing her to resign.)

But I wouldn't expect some people to actually take responsibility for their actions when it's the modus operandum to blame others for all their troubles.

And the liberal news media was ALL OVER the story about the black politicians being called the N word at the Tea Party rally - and no proof of that happening was ever found. They have yet to retract that story. (And I am using the word "story" like my grandmother used to -as in, "Don't tell such big stories - you know you got into that cookie jar.")

Lesson learned: Never listen to conservatives.

The lefty sources suppressed the Jones & Lewinsky stories for political reasons.
Oh, yeah....they're trustworthy. Fox has no monopoly on agenda driven news.

I don't think anyone here is denying that they should have gathered more information before making the decision to fire her. That's obvious. They are as wrong in this case as Fox is. However, the point is that Fox shouldn't even be putting out this kind of slander.

What evidence is there that Fox knew the tape was doctored?

Seriously, did they think that was her entire speech?
Did they make any attempt at all to check on context, obtain the whole speech?

Of course not. They ran with it because (they thought) it made a point they wanted to make. They did no investigative journalism whatsoever. Breitbart supplies them with a video, and they run it. Breitbart claims he got it from a source who wishes to remain anonymous, so Breitbart is just as responsible for not checking it out, but Breitbart is a well-known hack with no pretension to being a journalist.

Fox had a responsibility to check on its story. It didn't. Lousy journalism, lousy ethics.

They are semi-intelligent human beings. That's pretty good evidence right there. That along with all of the times they've used doctored footage to make other points and been called out for it, makes it pretty clear.

So the evidence is entirely your reasoning based upon your own opinion?

In America? I don't think so, and why would I want to? OTOH, I don't think they should have the privileges or regard that a news outlet merits; when they're strictly an opinion and entertainment network.

No, the evidence is the fact that they've done it before and they're obviously smart enough to understand that it might not be completely true. It has nothing to do with my opinion. As they say "Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me...you can't get fooled again." Anyway, they should take a little more time to make sure what they're presenting isn't doctored to give a different message. They've repeatedly ignored that advice, and that constitutes lying in most people's book.

I do recall O'Reilly apologizing when the full video came out. Now, I haven't seen MSNBC issue a correction based on their lies about the Tea Party calling Congressman Lewis a N-word or when Contessa Brewer and MSNBC zoomed in on a tea partier with a gun to argue that racist whites were threatening Obama but when you zoomed out it was a black man carrying the gun at the rally.

Do you favor a restriction on MSNBC's access?

No. MSNBC tries to report the news accurately. FOX is a pure entertainment, opinion and propaganda machine, and nothing more.

It's not that news outlets don't make mistakes, but they try to get the story right, not to just make stuff up.

"Johnny did it too" is not a good defense.

Why is it so hard for you to admit that these people lied, and that lying is not right? It's amazing the way you shift all culpability on to the victims of the deceit. Oh, I forgot--you're a Republican. That explains it.

In your judgment, should the news media refuse to run any story unless they have a video of it happening? Should they retract any report of any event which turns out not to have been captured on video?

What planet are you living on? Fox news did backtrack when they realized they based their reporting on an edited clip.

Yet, MSNBC didn't correct itself when they accused tea party protesters of calling Congressman Lewis the N-word (there is video of the incident proving that it didn't happen).

And MSNBC didn't retract its bogus claim of racism at a rally protesting Obama where they showed a person carrying a gun (little did you know that when you zoomed out it was a black man carrying the gun).

Yeah, MSNBC tries to get it right.

Why is it so hard for you to admit that these people lied, and that lying is not right? It's amazing the way you shift all culpability on to the victims of the deceit. Oh, I forgot--you're a Republican. That explains it.

Good one.

Let me do some posters a favor. Instead of writing a new post which says the same old same old, just say whether you're "A" or "B".
It's a time saving way of saying that you're on the moral & intelligent side, not those dishonest dimbulbs.

A: Your side lies!
B: No, your side lies!
A: No, my side is the one that tells the truth!
B: No, no, no...my my side tells the truth about your side's lies!
A: Absolutely not! It's obvious that your side lies in order to help rich fat cats!
B: You're an idiot! Your side lies to keep the poor poor!
A: You dishonest blithering idiot! We're the honest ones! It's been proven.
B: Proven? Hah! Your side is trying to destroy the country!
A: You don't care about people. You just lie to advance your party!
B: You're plain wrong. This isn't a matter of opinion. It's a fact that your side lies!
A: No! I have the truth!
B: No, no! I have the truth!
Go to beginning.
Repeat.

Is there a moral and intelligent side in American politics? Where?

Sure! Pick one, & you're on the side of truth, justice & the American way. Anyone who disagrees is stupid & dishonest...& so is their news network.
