Gaza: Comparing Egypt's blockade to Israel's?

The US is funding Hamas.

It gave Hamas $100 million last year, and Obama just proposed giving them another $47 million.

NUTS!

Let's put this into perspective:

...In Cairo, Secretary Kerry met with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and promised $47 million to help address the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. “We are deeply concerned about the consequences of Israel’s appropriate and legitimate efforts to defend itself,” Kerry said at the meeting.

The U.S. aid package will include $15 million for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, and $32 million in emergency relief assistance. The funds will be used to provide critical humanitarian aid including shelter, food and medical supplies to Palestinians in Gaza...

I just hope that the money goes whereas it's supposed to go.

Maybe you need distinguish between human aide and funding Hamas ?

It's as if people don't think that the Hamas will benefit from this aide.

Even if they do, is still far and away from the accusation that the US is funding them.

That's like saying the US is funding ISIS because they stole some Hum-V's.

America is funding the so-called "unity" government between the PLO and the Hamas. Is this too complicated?

there's a significant difference between humanitarian aid and military funding. Is that too complicated?

Depends.

Ever since the Operation began we all know where all the cement and concrete went. Hint: Not the Kindergarten

I still remember the posts on this Forum who cried so loud that Israel wouldnt let cement or concrete into the strip from time to time.
Hilarious.

I do believe that it's very important that any aid put forth be carefully followed to make certain where it goes, and this includes U.N. donations. After all, remember that at least one U.N. facility in Gaza was being used to store weapons for Hamas.

Well, anyone that believes that the US is funding Hamas has their head firmly crammed up their rearend.

Exactly. The US funds the military in Middle Eastern countries, who in turn funnel materiel, training and financial support to Islamic extremist groups. They don't fund Hamas directly. That's just crazy talk! ;)

US military and economic aid investments in the Middle East still can't buy peace
