God and You

You are saying you knw what God thinks, because you claim he has no interest in us. My faith tells me that he has an interest in us. You don't have anything to say that he DOESN"T have one. Omniscience CAN'T be defined by us. I dn't care what googe or wikipedia or whatever says. Like I said, the very word is as infallible as God himself.

If you cannot define the word omniscience, what is the point of using it? You might as well say God has the quality of "qwertyuiop", because they both would have equal meaning, in that both words have no meaning whatsoever.

This is a tragic viewpoint. I don't know how you bear it.

I have similar views - if God existed, I would consider him quite a sadist - supposedly caring for our welfare, but not minding that many people die in all sorts of disasters each year, disregarding the fact that many people fight in religious wars because of the most marginal of belief differences.

However, I don't believe in God on other grounds, (logical and empirical) which makes any perspective I have on God somewhat superfluous.

The problem here is not that the word omniscience cannot be defined, for it has been.
The problem is that he does not like the definition.

Two questions for those of a religious nature:

One - why should God have a personal interest in your welfare?
Two - why would God have a personal interest in your welfare?

Thanks in advance.

One - That's their choice.
Two - I don't claim to know the will of the gods, I think it would foolish to try to answer this question. After all, I don't like it when people answer questions on my behalf, I'm guessing that they don't appreciate it much either.

That's my point though. I have my faith that tells me what he believes and values. There is no basis for your use of it. you have no belief in my god.

I like to take the common consensus when using basic religious terms, because it makes debate easier. I might make a thread on this forum, look it up on Wiki, or do a search on the internet. I can't define my own definition of these ideas, or choose what I like, simply because I don't believe. It would be like me defining the characteristics of a unicorn when simply I do not believe they exist.

If you have a disagreement with the common definition of omniscience, I would like to hear your alternative definition.

Apart from that, I would like to know this: since omniscience is defined as being able to see everything at the same time, I would like to know how God can have more of an interest in some things than others.

For the first one, what is the answer in relation to you?

For the second reply, good answer. Frubals.

I think it's a numbers game, if no one believes in you, then you essentially don't exist. I think that the gods' power over us comes from us believing in them.

Which is exactly why the planet is run and ruled at large
by the power elite and their funny money.
It is a dangerous business making god's of men.
Believing in men you know not.
Especially men whose "business' you do not understand.

Now, the gods of OUR OWN personal constructs!
That's a whole nuther story.
We co-exist to serve one another in a mutual give and take.
Together we forge worlds of our own making
Life Stories of our own sentient personally interactive creativity.
It is an epic exchange of our own mutually shared experience of existence.

What/Who we believe in,
is essentially what we get.

GREAT ANSWERS GENTOO!
More Frubals your way.

God exists in our psyche if we want him to exist. I don't believe God is an external physical entity.
