God as a personality

As you know Spiny, I am just being funny :) . I only need 36 posts to have a thousand posts and I won't be an old timer like you but having a thousand posts will be fun for me :) . I have only had a thousand posts (1200) on one other message board but it is now extinct . Most of the time over the years I get run off :) or bored and leave. But I like it here on RF, everybody is fun.

I just have to point out that not all Christians believe their god is exclusively male.

I know, because I am one :) . But, I just have to point out that "all" orthodox Christians believe that God/Jehovah is Male. Otherwise they are not considered true Christians by most of Christianity. This is because most Christians worship the "Father" of Christ Jesus that art in Heaven. You and I both know that gender doesn't really matter and when one gets out there and has a look at things gender ceases to exist. Unless of course one wants it to exist, then it does exist. "Let us make them in our own image." "And the sons of God found the daughters of man pleasing :) ." And of course we could also add the possibility of technologically advanced space folks being at work in this scenario. If one was to watch the History2 channel very much :) .

Well, as you might know, the Ardhanareeshwara form of Shiva is half male and half female. They say Shiva is Shava (dead body) without Shakti. Shiva may be one of the Hindu Trinity, but Shakti is his power.

Right part Shiva, left part Parvati (Shakti).

Well as you know, I am a yogi, of some sort anyway :) . So I am listening closely to what you are saying. Based on my explorations, going out there and having a look at things, what I call the "Source" is the oldest force in existence and that it birthed Brahma/God. And this seems to correlate somewhat with the concept of Shakti. And the "Source" is the living energy that nourishes and is a part of all immortals. And based on my explorations, we as mortals can also attach ourselves to the source. Now as you know, I know Shiva personally and we are good friends. And, he is the one that has been teaching me how to achieve an attachment to the "Source" which is turning out to be Shakti :) . So what you are presenting to me Aupmanyav is very helpful. And one of the first things that one learns is to blend the male and female into a dynamic state of balance with each other. Yep, Shiva is both male and female and these two concepts are in a state of dynamic balance. And yes Shiva is nourished by the Shakti/"Source" and without this nourishment he would cease to exist as a living entity as would Bramha.

Yes, we both are Shiva's friends. I remember this from an earlier conversation. We are friends in this forum also. :)
Yes we are :) . And we are both a bit "rogue" which makes things a bit fun :) . That is also what I like about RF, most everybody is a bit "rogue" and creative. And by the way, I am not a Baba, I am just a grumpy old yogi :) and I too try to stay away from Babas. They can cause one to walk off different wondering what happened :) .

Folks who tend to go on and on about god serve merely to point out that they still know relatively little about reality.
Doesn't that depend on what they realize when they say it? What if they simply close their eyes and say God as they exhale themselves into all the universe? What if they mean Saguna Brahman, instead of Sky Creature?
