God Is Love?

If it is omniscient, then it cannot be benevolent, as it would not allow needless suffering if it was benevolent and could see the future.
Unless there were a higher good that came from it. Being omnicient helps in determining that.

So god is basically sadistic for some "higher" good?

Good for whom?

That doesn't seem to follow.

You're a god (deity)? If so, what kind of powers do you possess because this kid is in immediate need of a Big Mac. Can you make that happen?

I am God, LogDog...Just as we are all part of the whole...Although I do have abilities that I can use...Materializing a Big Mac has never been attempted...If I was going to focus energy on such, I would at least go for some Chinese food instead...:D

Why don't you give it a try and see how far you get with that? Then you'll be in a position to tell Becky what to do.

Well I've been doing it for years and if you went there and maintained your belief that there was a loving, compassionate god, I would consider you sick!

LogDog, you've never addressed my post about "my kind" doing works and helping people out. I provided with you an ample amount of links of what kind of works we actually do. Could you please address that?

Again, from post #26:

We do what we can with what we have.

Mormons Descend on Tornado-Hit Areas in Florida

Mormons Set Up Food Kitchens to Feed Community After Jakarta Floods
Response to Typhoon Durian in the Philippines
Mormons in the Philippines Help Community Recover
Mormon Women Sew Clothes for Children in Malawi
Church Recognized for Humanitarian Efforts
Latter-day Saints Send Aid to Middle East

Tell me again we aren't doing anything.

Do what you must.

The next time you miss a very important concept I may just fix it in your post again though. Deal with it :D

Your idea of a very important concept sure as hell isn't mine. When you attach my identity to your delusional statements, I'm going to take issue with it every time. I understand your desire to distort and manipulate the intended meaning of the written word, but please, in the future, keep your distortions restricted to the written "word of god".

Thanks.

LogDog.

:clap Keep up the good work and try not to lose faith. You never know. One of these days your invisible friend might even choose to pitch in.

God pitches in more then you even realize.

Images such as this lead me to question the assertion that "God is Love." How do you justify such a descriptor?

GODSLOVE.jpg

The fact that you see something wrong with this image is a sign of a God given conscience that is generally absent from the animal kingdom.
Survival of the fittest? If this is true then let them die, don't try to save them this is just natural selection, the starvation of this infant is just natures way of eliminating its weakest links. By keeping these people alive you are just burdening our own resources which we need to advance if it be true that there is no God and we all advanced this far through natural selection. Your own awareness of the fact that this suffering is wrong proves that it is unnatural.

I don't wish to drag this thread off topic, but your characterization of natural selection is a strawman.

Are you saying that we should do nothing for them, just look after ourselves, just let them die? If that is so, I find that attitude very disturbing.
