Gods Greatest Desire?

Maybe we are born into purgatory then, separated from God.

Subject to God's evil upon mankinds evil.

Be there a perfect being, God. Gods greatest desire is the soul's worth for fellowship. God desires hearts of care and compassion as deserves. God desires mercy. Mercy requires repentance.

There are two types of beings, the heart of a giver, and the heart of a taker.

There is the vanity and false pride of life, that desires power and control and vain glory above all things.

Then there is the heart of a giver, who seeks to give as belongs, and desires to lift up the compassionate, and merciful, and repentant.

God desires repentance, but if a being never repents then God must judge to punish. Much of humanity brings upon itself judgment. Why does this happen? Because they are vain, boastful, arrogant, greedy, lustful, spiteful, selfish, cruel, unforgiving, only out for the self and selfs own, murderous, possessive, and only seek to have more then their share. They lack basic care and compassion as deserves.

There are three types of pure love above: mercy, as deserves, and charity.

God bestows all three as is fitting for the sake of the soul's worth in fellowship. God wants to relate, but human hearts must become just for God to do that.

A will against God and God's just heart of living simply isnt worth God's fellowship. God extends mercy to the very last, but there is a line on evil where a being will never ever have a heart for what truly matters ever.

So its not God that has made enemies. Humans make themselves enemies to God, and thus draw judgment from God.

The #1 heart of God is charity. God wants to lift up and to give. God wants to make well of souls, and to make them beautiful and perfect in justice and in truth.

Without virtues it is impossible to please God, and no relationship can exist with God.

You are either on one side or the other with God because thats the only way that it is.

What? Me worry?
No.

God is existence itself. God being perfect isnt subject to death because God is Supreme innocence.

Having said that i believe God suffers, and does need to defend Godself against evil.

Death is a condition of mankind because of their rebellious spirit.

We are temporal hearted, always changing, God is eternal hearted and Gods nature doesnt change.

I believe that God is always in bliss, and God doesn't need us. But it is part of His nature to create us, and wish the best for us. Worship is for us, not for God.

No offense, but I think most God definition conversations fall into utter disarray when and/or because people try to
force "God" to fit their own human frailties, fears, and emotions. This is almost saying that God looks like me, or me, or me; and God thinks like me, or me, or me. In reality God is everything and nothing at the same time (IMHO). Our labels are meaningless and superficial at best.

But he does desire that people be evil.

Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
So go figure.

Beat me to it. To me this simply means God is totally neutral.

Question Everything
...God wants to lift up and to give. God wants to make well of souls, and to make them beautiful and perfect in justice and in truth.

It often feels like g-d is absent - that we are not given what we need, not protected etc. What does not kill us only makes us stronger? .. but then we all die in the end, so... what do you make of the problem of evil?

What do you make of the fact that God created a Universe and Life such that Life must destroy Life (kill) in order to exist?

I would seek very hard, i grew up christian, and God was always the topic of conversation, and this is the determination ive come too. I asked myself the question, What is a perfect being? I have always been compelled to know that more than anything.

They say seek and you shall find in my familys religion. God is not far from anyone of us they tell me. I find that to be true.

Im still always seeking God, and i wont settle for anything less.

Thanks for the compliment.

I felt the same way when younger. I assumed that if I look long enough with enough sincerity I would eventually find the truth.

I suppose I got my answer, but my answer was different from everyone else's. And most the other folks claiming to have the answer didn't match each other either. I assume most of those other folks were as sincere as you.

Alan Watts said when you get the message, hang up the phone but he was referring to psychedelic drugs. Though maybe he knew that if you keep calling, all your going to find is different answers.

Living on from death, the problem of evil is that it interferes with life, and is against it totally. It goes against lifes intentions.

Living apart from god, we have to constantly reckon with it ourselves. Left to its own devices, it ruins the fabric of society. God says deal with it yourselves in your lives and on the street.

I suppose if we were all perfectly innocent we wouldnt have to live like this. God forces us to deal with it all on our own. That way we reckon with it ourselves, and the misery of it.

The more answers the better, its better than none at all.

I find that alan watts comment humorous. Like oh great another answer. Of course he had plenty of messages himself.

I honestly cant imagine God running around fixing everybodys problems anyway. Especially if they dont even care.

By the way, im not speaking as an authority on god. Mainly as a human being honestly seeking. Trying to reconcile what it all means.

There are no perfect humans that give right answers all the time.

Its all part of the human struggle.

Why in God's name would God even have a reason to "desire" anything? It seems people are fond of attributing human traits on something that by definition has to to be unfathomable.
The biblical scriptures reveal that "God is Love" and agape love, the highest form of love, is a love which seeks to bless another, so it makes perfect sense that God would desire to love and bless His creation.

So why bother to create evil in the first place?

IMV "evil" only exists as an equal opposite of "good".....everything in creation is balanced with an opposite...in and out....front and back...up and down...with or without....before and after.....good and evil.

Some opposites are obvious but God wanted to keep a knowledge of the difference between good and evil to be determined by himself. He would decide what was good for them and what wasn't...much like any good parent.

Once humans separated from God (by their disobedience) and chose another god to rule them, they basically told their Creator that they could decide what was good and evil for themselves. The line became blurred by sin....so now we really don't know the difference. Good seems bad and bad seems good to many people.

Isaiah wrote..."Woe to those who are saying that good is bad and bad is good, those who are putting darkness for light and light for darkness, those who are putting bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20)

If "woe" is predicted for those who can't tell the difference, then it doesn't look good for those who want to dictate their own ideas, does it?

Perfect sense to whom? This is how sects, dogma, and division occurs in religions. And please tell what is love?

That king james version leaves a lot to be desired for translation.

Why does Isaiah 45:7 say that God created evil?
From your link

". . . Isaiah 45:7 in the King James Version reads, “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.” How does Isaiah 45:7 agree with the view that God did not create evil? There are two key facts that need to be considered. (1) The word translated “evil” is from a Hebrew word that means “adversity, affliction, calamity, distress, misery.” Notice how the other major English Bible translations render the word: “disaster” (NIV, HCSB), “calamity” (NKJV, NAS, ESV), and “woe” (NRSV). The Hebrew word can refer to moral evil, and often does have this meaning in the Hebrew Scriptures. However, due to the diversity of possible definitions, it is unwise to assume that “I create evil” in Isaiah 45:7 refers to God bringing moral evil into existence."
All I can say is, nice cherry picking.

Oh, there is something else . . .
As I recently pointed out elsewhere here on RF, if one checks Strong's, the Hebrew word רַע (ra`) [Strong's H7451] when used as a noun, as it's used in Isaiah 45:7, means evil. It's listed as the primary meaning in both its feminine and masculine forms, and as the primary meaning in all of six listed categories. Moreover, among the 10 different translations of רַע (ra`) appearing in the 51 Bible versions I checked, "evil" is by far the most common, showing up in 52% of them. No other translation even approaches this number.
