Gods responsibility

Dr. Frankenstein, is that you?

Perhaps the most simple answer is the best one available?

We do not require a "god" to rationalize/explain human existence.

Just a thought.....

"Threadkill Extraordinaire" :) ! "Perhaps the most simple answer is the best one available?" Humm? Maybe. ""We do not require a God to rationalize/explain human existence." Humm?

"God's responsibility", sure does become a short topic if the simple answer is that He does not exist :) ! Well, historically speaking anything the was not understood was considered caused be the gods. The simple answer would have been, "Who the heck knows :) ?" Just a thought.....

And for you.....I take you to my first sense of memory....

I was a boy, out of bed in the middle of the night.
Sitting on the floor with my arms on the window sill looking out into the night.

My parents owned the gas station next door.
My father was working with a blow torch.
I could not see him, but watched as the sparks came flying out of the doorway.

Cars on the main road.
Street lights.
Stars overhead.
The night was all lit up.

And I said to myself...if God made all of this....He is truly wonderful.

A chill ran over me, in spite of the warm summer breeze coming in the window.

Years later, first summer out of high school.....
I was bored and laid back on my bed for a nap.

I found myself among the stars.
The earth and all that I ever knew was gone.

But I was not surprised nor afraid.

I felt as if I had found my way home.

After waking up....I realized my true sense of direction.
I also realize there is discipline required to return.

I found myself among the stars.

But I was not surprised nor afraid.

The yogis call it "cosmic awareness/consciousness" and that experience is considered pretty advanced. Discipline required to return is an interesting approach to things and most everybody that has been out there and has came back again would agree with you Thief. Our minds are trained to this world and the "blinders" that that training gives us. And if one is serious about stuff, then their mind needs to be retrained. That does require "discipline" :) . And a whole bunch of other stuff that most everybody would just rather not have to deal with. And I do not blame them. If a person who is an atheist lives a life of compassion or at least is inclined toward compassion, then they get to go to Heaven also even though they did not need or even believe in God. It is what it is that is in your heart that gets one into Heaven.

Different people have different visions of heaven, hell and God. So afterlife is a really confusing matter for me.

Draupadi, you speak wisdom :) . It seems that we go to a place that we are comfortable being in along with others that are comfortable being there also. If one can look into their heart, then what they see is where they are going. That is what makes it confusing.

We are so different...but I now expect to 'see you' later on.......

How would we know to will it? How would it be our fault if we long for it.

Indeed!
What is Man that God is mindful of him?

I suspect we are the one creature creeping about that can actually think years to the future and make preparation for pending events.
This makes it possible to consider an afterlife.

BUT....for God to intercede on each and every occasion would negate freewill.

So what is heaven looking for?
The few that are smart enough to look ahead!

Do we log to live?.....oh yes....day by day.
Do we have the will to live?.....most of us do.
Do we have what it takes to stand from the dying carcass we creep around in?
I sure hope so!

The grave is the only other alternative.
Solitary confinement....in the dark....with no escape.
Insanity would be quick to the onset.

But is God responsible?
I can't help but to lean to the root syllables.
Are we responsive?
Are we really looking ahead?
Who's fault would it be if we fail?
