What do you mean?...primitives and didn't much know what they were talking about?
Tom
I assume he means illiterate, bronze age goatherds with no education or knowledge of the world beyond their pastures. What do you mean?
King James reads just fineRealize that Chapter two is not a continuation of chapter one, but a brief account of the creation period. In other words, it recounts some details of what took place during the six day period.
Genesis 2:
4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
If you check other translations, you will realize that the six day period is called a day, so we are looking at thousands of years. Everything in chapter two is happening during the six days.
God only needed to act afterwards, based on what they did after, it would seem, a long period of time becoming one with nature.
Are you sure that's what he means? I don't want to assume in case I am wrong.I assume he means illiterate, bronze age goatherds with no education or knowledge of the world beyond their pastures.
Do you have anything you can provide to prove this?King James reads just fine
and Chapter Two is NOT a retelling of Chapter One
two separate events altogether
Really, where? The best that I have seen are attempts to reinterpret the Bible in light of what we know today. Meanwhile those same people often believe the clear and obvious myths of the Bible. That appears to be a lose lose to me for Christians. Are you sure that's what he means? I don't want to assume in case I am wrong.
However, if you are right, that great,, because that's proof (not that we are now finding this out) that the Bible would have to be from a higher source, since the information found there is way ahead of our time, and far superior in its knowledge on most everything. Nice.

What bible are you reading? Pi = 3? Speckled goats can be produced by drinking from a trough with partially peeled sticks in it? Worldwide flood? Talking snakes? Jesus born under Herod and in the census year? Are you sure that's what he means? I don't want to assume in case I am wrong.

You were the one that made the claim about the knowledge in the Bible, I am interested in seeing if you have any that does not match my claim. For example?

The Problem of the Bible: Inaccuracies, contradictions, fallacies, scientific issues and more.
So you challenge the claim about knowledge in the Bible. Am I right? I asked for an example. Do you have one?You were the one that made the claim about the knowledge in the Bible, I am interested in seeing if you have any that does not match my claim.
Wow! You have it backwards. You were the one that claimed there was such knowledge, I replied based on examples that I have seen. It appears that you know that you have nothing. So you challenge the claim about knowledge in the Bible. Am I right? I asked for an example. Do you have one?
We probably are both looking down the same barrel then, because I thinking the same thing.Wow! You have it backwards. You were the one that claimed there was such knowledge, I replied based on examples that I have seen. It appears that you know that you have nothing.
as you are reading Genesis....you will notice some 'leaps'Do you have anything you can provide to prove this?
Why don't you support your original claim? You do not seem to understand that a claim, such as you made, cannot be refuted until you give a little more detail. I told you what errors I have seen in the past, I don't want to make a strawman argument, one where I give an example and you would claim that was not what you were thinking about. We probably are both looking down the same barrel then, because I thinking the same thing.
Don't assume what I will do. You probably did that before in our last "conversation". Go ahead. Why don't you support your original claim? Can you support what you said by scripture?as you are reading Genesis....you will notice some 'leaps'
and with some other portions of Scripture the leaps become more manageable
for example.....Day Six
go forth, be fruitful, multiply......dominate all things
NOTE....no garden, no names, no law, no forbiddance
New Testament makes report.....Adam is a CHOSEN son of God
put the two notations together......Man was a species on Day Six
Chapter Two is more to a science experiment
a chosen specimen
ideal living conditions
alteration of mind and body as well as cloning
Adam was not the first man to walk this earth
He was the first to walk with God
and Eve was not born of woman.....no navel
Adam was given his twin sister for a bride
THEN you have details about Cain
Banished to wander ...he complained....
others will seek to kill me
what others?.......
Cain took a wife......from where?....the land of Nod?
Cain went on to build a city......for what population?
apparently..obviously.....
the garden family were not alone on this planet
Don't assume what I will do. You probably did that before in our last "conversation". Go ahead.
What modern man "discovered".You made a claim. I explained why that claim was wrong. Then instead of supporting your claim you tried to twist it. So far you have only supported the claim that I made.
I believe I didCan you support what you said by scripture?
