God's Take On Nudity

If we take that to mean literally that Adam now realized that he needed clothing...?
Do you take the part that they eyes were opened, to mean literally that they eyes were shut before - now they opened?

If we understand that the opening of their eyes was not literal, but have to do with how they now saw, or viewed things, then we will understand that seeing their nakedness isn't to be taken literally either, but relates again to their thinking, in relation to their genitals. We will also understand then that knowing good and bad isn't to be taken literally that they suddenly had a flood of knowledge of what is good and bad, but relates again to their thinking, with regard to making decisions on what is good and bad.

It is literal in the sense of physical reality.
Although their eyes were opened before, they had no physical understanding of reality, once they ate from their fruit their eyes literally opened to the physical reality as we know it today.

I personally think you are reading too much into it.
