I assume you didn't read or understand this biased piece of ??.
His conclusion is based on the fact that many abortions are performed by tax exempt organizations and several other mathematical shenanigans to argue that not collecting taxes from tax exempt providers amounts to taxpayers funding abortion.

Forbes is usually better than this I am surprised their editorial staff let this by.

Maybe it's true. But regardless,. I posted other stuff that said it as well but broadened the scope from just Medicaid to HSAs and tax credits or deductions.

I did read it by the way.

No, I am not misremembering anything. I clearly remember being able to choose whether or not to have some things covered such as pregnancy. It wasn't cafeteria style so to speak but you could opt out of several things and lower your deductible and payments.
That might have been the case in the past, but I can't remember it as an option in any plans I have discussed in 40+ years. it is not an option now.

Does health insurance cover prenatal care and other pregnancy services?

Yes. Routine prenatal, childbirth, and newborn care services are essential benefits. And all qualified health insurance plans must cover them, even if you were pregnant before your health coverage started.

No but one can get a tax deduction or tax credit or use an HSA for the expenses, including travel expenses.

Even if that's true (I suspect it isn't universally) what does that have to do with the price of eggs? If the procedure is illegal, insurers can't cover it. Thus the legislation prevents the government from doing that.

No, it's not an option now but it used to be an option and I remember opting out of it. And get this, the insurance company still made plenty of money.

It's not illegal everywhere in the US.

Yes it was a polemic that spent a lot of time arguing that because abortions are not entirely line item bills, some other programs may through fungibility end up paying part of the costs.

Lol correct, but it is illegal in some states.

It's like you're straining to avoid admitting the obvious.
It's legal in 36 states and illegal, with or without exceptions, in 14. I don't know how I am straining to avoid admitting the obvious when I've posted links supporting what I'm saying.

Yes, there was a class called catastrophic health care only that did not cover pregnancy or much of anything else, they were commonly found in the back of magazines along with the 10$ life insurance ads.

Nope, not catastrophic health care. It was also a PPO, not an HMO.

Which is where he is finding little loopholes and assigning arbitrary values to come up with numbers. It is a polemic.

Whatever you say. Why is this information so difficult to find, anyway? My point stands, sorry. I got that information elsewhere by the way, and I believe I linked to it but I'm not going to go back and look for it.

Where abortion is legal, insurers can cover it, but it really doesn't matter much anyway since it's legal in 36 states. Between Medicaid and tax credits, which I've linked to but won't go back to look for (sorry, but I'm just not interested enough to do so), I believe it was a CNN article though, the tax payer is still subsidizing abortions.

Yes insurance companies make lots of money, one large reason our health care is so expensive, that is a whole nother argument though.

Though I will say that insurance companies are very much in favor of paying for abortions because it keeps their costs down.

Sure it does, and it's still legal in most states by far.
