GOP rallies around Trump following FBI search of his estate

That's the way it often works. Before Biden became president, he wanted, he said, the Justice Department to do what they wanted with Trump, and he wouldn't interfere.
Not a quality of a strong leader by any means.

If i was president, I'd insist on being informed on any major plan or operation that may be in the works.

So then Biden NOT weaponizing the DOJ isn't a sign of a strong leader. Irony among the right wing.

Fine. Biden has been busy with his own accomplishments. But if you wanted to be informed on what the DOJ is doing, that would be your option. As long as you aren't interfering, or using the DOJ as a weapon, as Trump tried to do. As we know, Barr resigned instead of being used.

All politicians lie.
Kinda like everyone is a killer. Jim killed Larry because he had an affair with his wife. But Larry killed some mosquitos the day before, so both are killers. And they are the same.

Trump's level of lying is vastly worse than your average politician lying. But nice attempt at blurring the distinction.

Strange since the FBI is used by the left as a Stasi arm of the party on multiple occasions on its political opponents.

I'm still waiting on a raid of Hunter Bidens residence btw.

At least Trump is openely transparent in terms of character, unlike others who hide their character behind a facade.

For what?
So FBI, why no raid of Hunter Biden's house?!

A little snippet.....

Despite a snail’s pace grand-jury investigation into his suspect business dealings by the US attorney in Joe Biden’s crony state of Delaware, despite copious documentary evidence that he accepted millions of dollars from America’s adversaries in exchange for influencing his father, the then-vice president, despite actively working with Communist China to extend “belt-and-road” imperialism across the globe to undermine America, Hunter, 52, looked as if he didn’t have a care in the world.

That should suffice for your query.

So he is being investigated, right? The article gives no reason for an FBI raid. Consider that Trump had been subpoenaed for documents since what, March? The best we know now is that the raid was necessary to get sensitive material. It seems like Trump was given plenty of time to comply.

If the same is found of Hunter, by all means, raid the home! In the meantime, this just seems like a red herring.

If you were President and you did that you would violate federal law the same way Trump did.

Being a President of a democratic nation that is ruled by laws is not the same thing as being a “strong man” dictator.

Obeying the law and upholding the Constitution is not weakness.

This is exactly why your country is currently falling into fascism. So many Americans seem to expect and even demand their leaders act like fascist dictators.

How in the world is that related to not being informed about what your administration is doing?

Maybe. I will admit that I am not quite as confident as I was. But I haven’t lost yet. Still waiting to see what Trump will say to the judge.

Should be soon.
Here is something I have been thinking. The DOJ wanted Trump to release his copy of the warrant. That way his adversaries could point to it, delay the adjudication, and leave a cloud over Trump. But Trump didn’t fall for that. That forced the DOJ to ask for its release. But this helps Trump. Now he can ask that the warrant and its supporting documents be unsealed. If the DOJ or Court release those the focus changes to those. If they don’t then he can point to the lack of access. It also gives more urgency for the DOJ to move the case along.

Trump can ask for anything he wants, but the underlying evidence for getting the warrant is not going to be unseal unless and until there are charges filed. All we are going to see now is (possibly) the warrant and the inventory of items seized. And nothing more than that.

No. It is putatively legal. Whether it is actually legal is subject to review.
That's beside the point as all court decisions are subject to review, including even those by the SCOTUS.

Warrants a legal documents-- period.

It is official now, Trump has not objected. I lose. I was wrong. I really thought he would object.

This should be interesting.
