Gunshot wounds--leading cause of death for American children

In America a fetus becomes a child. Millions have been killed by abortion.
Thanks for reinforcing the fact that Republicans only seem to care about fetuses, rather than what actually happens to children after they're born.

You guys don't support school lunch programs.
You guys don't support welfare assistance programs for unemployed parents.
You guys don't support daycare programs or subsidies.
You guys don't support child allowances.
You guys don't support food stamp programs.
You guys don't support universal healthcare.
You guys don't support maternity leave.
You guys don't support paternity leave.
You guys don't support mental health programs.

But you wanna force everyone to have babies.
And you guys support policies that when implemented - as they have been in Texas - have actually INCREASED infant mortality by 13%.

And not only do you guys not support these things, but you also degrade and demean the people who do and those who need such supports. You claim they're lazy. Or Slutty. Or they have mental illness. Or whatever excuse you can come up with to write them off.

Save us your sanctimony.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Right.

So what makes you think your suggestion would solve anything?
I think we should start by enforcing the laws that are already on the books. You bring up military style rifles and one of my points is that the five year old probably didn't find a military style rifle in the nightstand, he probably found a handgun.

You just gave the example yourself of your parents just handing an AR15 to your 13-year old brother...

I also talked about the 14-year old who grabs the AR15. In my example at least he had to take it himself. In your example, it's just handed to him.
Not sure what point you think you are making here.....

How about this for a point: citizens have no business having such military grade weapons in their homes?

To anyone not living in the US, it is actually mindblowingly shocking to see the casualness of how people in the US just go and by a gun or ammunition at a grocery store or alike. And then they cry about the countless mass shootings and the fact that Americans kill more americans with "civilian" guns in a single year then Islamic terrorists have killed americans in the past 5 decades.

But when an islamic terrorist kills a few americans, entire countries are bombed to the ground in response.

yeah, makes perfect sense!

How about we make it easier to enforce the laws that are already passed?

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
How?

(I've been hearing people say this for decades now)
Pro-gun-control experts and some former law enforcement officials say that a lack of resources combined with vague and toothless laws make federal gun prosecutions difficult. And they accuse gun lobbies of intentionally watering down legislation and hamstringing agencies so the laws are useless, a point lobbyists contacted by CNN declined to address.

Do you serve scrambled eggs and tell people they are getting chicken dinners? One has to wonder what you think fetuses become in other countries.
I was responding to a poster who said fetuses aren’t children. It’s an argument the left has used to justify killing unborn children.

I would say the only thing conservatives don't support on this list is universal health care and maybe paternity leave but who is not supporting lunch programs or maternity leave etc.?

Fetuses aren't children. That's why we don't call them "children". When a woman faces the difficult choice of what to do about an unwanted pregnancy, that is none of your business unless you are the woman facing that decision.

Then why does God "kill unborn children" through miscarriages and/or stillborn? What other decisions should the government make dealing with a woman's personal health? What supposed right do you have to make her personal decisions?

Coming back to how 'intolerable' the level of shotgun deaths among young Americans is, what has anyone on this thread done in the last twelve months, other than post messages in a forum, as a result of their intolerance to it?
