Harris is so out of touch.....

Kamala Harris slammed for "insulting" claim rural communities can't photocopy IDs

She really has no clue. Does she? Does she think all rural folks are brainless hicks who cannot think or find a way to photocopy material?

One more example on how badly out of touch and ignorant she is about rural America.

Plus it's no wonder that rural America has such a low opinion on politics now.

I seriously doubt most computers have a printer in order to print out a photocopy of an ID.

I'd consider the Republicans thinking almost anybody can easily afford a laptop, printer, and ink cartridge in order to simply print out a copy of his identification card are the ones who are out of touch with rural America.

How much does one of them fanciful printers and ink cartridge cost?

you can get an HP DeskJet low as $70 or you can go all the way to a laserJet for $700 or more. And how many folks have smart phones these days

The printer itself may perhaps be a hundred bucks, but then I suppose its ink cartridge is another fifty bucks. Now I suppose the Republicans want people each spending $150 to get a photo copy of his/her picture ID in order to vote.

Funny....post #2 immediately whatabouts it to Trump.
Does RF have an unwritten rule that no one shall
criticize Dem leaders?

It seems that Harris has never been anyplace rural, eh.
Limited life experience is a problem for many pols, not
just Harris.

I could not afford a smart phone until I was fortunate enough to get enhanced unemployment benefits. I am also now fortunate enough to have a printer, but I'm an urbanite, not somebody in fly over country.

I guess they could send proof that they have access to copiers.

Do people still make copies of their butts? Is that still a thing?

Don't try this at home - or at work either.

I once heard about someone having to rush to the ER after attempting this. The glass broke and their backside was cut pretty bad. I imagine there must be a category for this under "workplace accidents."

It's fair to point out that the criticism is not about what a politician has done but about "owning the libs".

True. And having politicians shoot off their mouths for political ends endemic. But why should they be any better than us here on RF who do the same thing albeit to a smaller audience.

so then...you have a smart phone... And we are not talking about "fly over countries" just states in the USA

OK. you do know libraries can make copies too in some areas. And why do we need a copy of an ID, is this just for mail in voting....which by the way then the previous argument about requiring ID to vote as being racist, makes no sense at all. So now the argument is not that it is racist....it is just hard to get a photocopy......... a bit of a change don't you think...... so now what.....they want a supreme court decision as to whether or not it is constitutional to require a photo ID....like the decision they made that the voting regulations of Arizona are Constitutional

Rules are pretty specific as to who can deliver an absentee vote..... proof of ID could probably be handled at the post office if necessary,

And don't forget...cheap printers coms with 1/2 full ink cartridges and they are sooo much cheaper than a smart phone

Since they get to be in charge of us, they should be better.
But I don't expect that.

I realize most people have smartphones, but that does not necessarily mean they have printing capabilities. Of course, I suppose Urbanites could easily go to a library or Office Depot if need be to get a printed copy of their photo ID in order to vote by mail. However, I suspect this is not the case for much of rural America. Please let us consider them being at a disadvantage if they need to have a photo copy of their picture ID in order to vote. If a rural American were needing to spend $100 or so to get a printer in order to have a copy of his/her photo ID to vote by mail, then this might discourage him/her to vote by mail. A rural resident might be too busy or feeble to otherwise vote in person. Voter ID requirements might indeed discourage many poor rural residents to cast their votes. I would consider a mail-in ballot containing the voter's driver license's number, or last four digits of his or her social security number as sufficient proof of the voter's identity. I fail to understand why the voter's facial image would then still be necessary.

Or maybe she's spot-on as far more people in rural America ain't getting the vaccine that clearly saves lives. At the CPAC meeting over the weekend, they cheered when someone mentioned that Republicans are much more likely resist getting vaccinated than Democrats. Doesn't much sound like an exercise in intelligence to me. :p

But let's get real, and that is that this Republican Party is hell-bent on the voter suppression of minorities and younger Americans. Imagine if Obama had tried to suppress the rural vote by making it more difficult for them to vote. Imagine if Obama had encouraged and insurrection of the Capitol. Imagine if those who conducted that insurrection were predominantly Black.

Anyone who praises Trump and condemns Harris-- well, one can finish my sentence from there.

I know this is your mantra. But it's no more reasonable
than the claims that Democrats want no voting security
so that illegal aliens can vote.
You guys...throwing bricks at each other, but no attempt
to understand each other.
