I'm advocating for sincere & dedicated commitment to the process. So what's the compromise between "We want to vote" and "We don't want you to vote"?
I don't know what will result.

What process?I'm advocating for sincere & dedicated commitment to the process.
I don't know what will result.
Negotiation, compromise, creating policy.What process?
So you have no solutions, no proposals, and nothing other than bland appeals to "compromise". Oh, and ignoring what Republicans are doing and saying about why they're doing it.Negotiation, compromise, creating policy.
It seems you're not keen on bi-partisan solutions. So you have no solutions, no proposals, and nothing other....
I was thinking exactly that.Shrug....what a waste of time
If someone offers a bipartisan solution, I'll consider it. In the meantime, constitutional rights are not something one compromises on, especially voting. It seems you're not keen on bi-partisan solutions.
Nor on considering my perspective.
Maybe bring something to the table next time.I was thinking exactly that.
It's funny that Democrats seem to go the polar opposite. Letting complete foreigners vote, or at least turning a blind eye to it should it 'slip' through the cracks. And bothsiderism helps perpetuate things like voter suppression.
Once again you fail to address the actual substance of the matter. The fact remains, Republicans are, and have been, implementing laws that are specifically designed to suppress Democrat votes. They even say so themselves. No sense in denying it.
Where have they done that? It's funny that Democrats seem to go the polar opposite. Letting complete foreigners vote, or at least turning a blind eye to it should it 'slip' through the cracks.
It always starts at the local level and winds up reaching the majors eventually if not stopped early on.Where have they done that?
And? I don't see anything particularly partisan about what's described in the first article. In each of the 12 localities that have allowed non-citizens to vote in local elections (if they have kids in the schools and/or own property), it seems to have support of the people who live there. It always starts at the local level and winds up reaching the majors eventually if not stopped early on.
Laws permitting noncitizens to vote in the United States - Ballotpedia
Democrats Just VOTED to Allow ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS to VOTE!
The issue is in legality. And? I don't see anything particularly partisan about what's described in the first article. Did you even read the article you posted? The issue is in legality.
The people who live in those areas decided it's fine for people who own property and send their kids to the local schools to vote in local elections (e.g. school boards). No non citizen should be able to interfere in any election. Local or otherwise.
Your asking for trouble.
Did you even read the article you posted?

It's always been illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. Go read the article you posted.
Opinion noted.I like that little cliché. "Did you read the article?
Yep, I did, and still stand by the premise that illegals should not be able to participate in any elections.
Complaining about an exchange you started (#35)?Maybe bring something to the table next time.

This is exactly what an urban Brit like me wants to believe rural America is like. Can any of you confirm or deny?
