Hatred of homosexuals, Christians and the rich

Naw...one poster on the internet doesn't make Christians Americas most persecuted group, especially when said poster isn't American.

Ok, fair enough. But your statement was very prejudicial against Christians.

It's that sort of unfair generalizations that contribute to the rationalization of persecution. Those who hate and persecute based on religion, race, culture, sexual orientation, etc, always think that they have good reason to persecute.

Hitler could provide his list of complaints against the Jews. He didn't simply hate them because they were not Christian. He saw that they acted in a way which was threatening to his country and culture.

Racial bigots don't hate blacks simply because they are black, They hate them because they perceive that they are all violent and uneducated criminals who deserve our distrust. They don't discriminate in employment based on skin color. They discriminate because everyone knows that blacks are not as smart and won't perform as well in the work place.

They discriminate against gays because they don't want gays to rape their children.

Those who persecute Christians can't see that they do the same thing for the same stupid perceived reasons. Christian haters say "No really, Christians are a threat to others and need to be stopped."

Are there any haters in the world who feel that their hatred is not justified?

You're more determined than most to avoid any semblance of evidence, that seems clear. It really would help make your points a little more convincing.

But, okay...without evidence...define a christian and define rich.

I am coming to the conclusion that the most harassed, belittled, discriminated groups in America are not blacks, hispanics, native Americans, nor Jews or Muslims, or women... et all.

It is Christians and homosexuals who face the worst of all of this.

And the most abused of all is a homosexual Christian.

Not far behind these two groups are the rich.

Some of this hate directed towards these three almost makes me wonder if they may become victims of future camps, prisons or worse at the hands of hate groups.

The most targetted of all is a rich homosexual Christian.
I am neither a homosexual nor a Christian, but this is what I see.

The hatred needs to stop.

Minorities of any sort of grouo are generally less accepted cause somewhere they somehow fall short of majorities norms often times out of bigotry and ignorance.

The last group of people on this planet I will shed any tears over are rich people. If they have any problems, they can go dry their tears with their money and shut the **** up. Money is power in this ****** up world and the powerful have armies to protect them as they exploit the rest of us. The hatred aimed at the super-rich is well-deserved and if they keep on enslaving the rest of us, they will get what they deserve as they have during other short-lived episodes of history when the anger of the masses over being treated like cattle reached the tipping point.

So being rich automatically makes someone a bad person?

Money does corrupt, I agree. But not alone. It is the mix of money and greediness. Money doesn't cause greediness, either a person is greedy or they aren't.

Capitalism as an economic theory doesn't have a specific hierarchy agreed on by all Capitalists, and I doubt many Capitalists share that set up.

Was that for me?

I'm not trying to argue that the rich, gays, and/or Christians are persecuted more or less than other groups. I was pointing out that your comments are examples of Christian persecution.

Happy to address your points but I'm not sure which of my statements you think was prejudical against Christians. As an entire group, I have no issues with Christians, so I'm confused as to your meaning.

I haven't addressed the rest of your post since I need to better understand what I said that you see as 'very prejudical' first.

I'm still really confused to how Christians (in America, at least) and rich people are persecuted. How so?

Okay, so in what way are Christians (and to whatever extent, the rich) going to be persecuted in the next 20 years?

Am I to understand that you believe Lewisnotmiller is persecuting you and other Christians?

I've been off RF for a long time and seem to have lost my edge, if I ever had one. I confused Lewismiller with Psychoslice, who made a dumb comment about Christians. Duh.

As a Mormon, I don't drink so I can't blame my drunken stupor for my error. I confused you with someone else who who made a comment about Christians which I didn't like.

Cheers

Sorry shiv, but you're full of bull hockey. The rich and the Christians are the two most privileged and secure groups in the USA I live in. I doubt that being gay is much problem if you have the advantages of those two characteristics. I see this as a pathetic attempt to join the "culture of victimhood".

Maybe you are defining rich and Christian in some unusual way. You could be more clear.

What I mean by rich is the top few percent of people who are determined to turn the USA into a third world country where the wealthy own almost everything, including the government.

By Christian I mean people who say that they are Christian. That isn't just the nice ones. It includes the KKK, Westboro Baptist Church, and Ted Haggard.

So don't expect me to believe that rich Christians, gay or not, are victims of irrational bigotry in the USA. I can see what is going on around here, even if you can't.

It is common for people of the lower and middle class to believe all economically successful people to be greedy or very inexperienced (due to the popularization of maids). With groups such as OWS I can foresee "the rich", or everyone who is sitting on the dry end of the economical stick to be stereotyped for how a few of them act, or not even how any of them really act, but how they are portrayed.

And as for Christianity, I do think atheism is on the rise, whether or not it is currently more popular. I do think there is some sort of secularization going on in the US and along with it comes anti-religion. If it isn't anti-religion that tackles Christianity, it will be suffocating the religion to an unstable existence. Not completely gone, but so much out of our lives that it becomes something in the background. I have no evidence that it'll happen, I just have a feeling that it will.

Not to mention how Christians are a popular target when attacking religions simply because the religion is widely recongized. With this comes the stereotypes that Christians are homophobic, greedily rich, pro-life enforcers, creationists, etc. which are things that are being criticized by a lot of people today. With this image, Christianity is bound to fall. It doesn't matter if this image is not matched, the fact that it has this image means it is likely to become a minority in the future.

I guess I'm failing to see how any of that qualifies as persecution.

It isn't.
Christians and the rich like to complain about being persecuted when they can't discriminate and oppress others the way they used to do with impunity. But it is not persecution.
