Having your period? Then go to the back of the class and sit by yourself

Have you ever asked them or there sisters if they felt 'lesser' or hated? Of course not. After all, why should this condescending white man's burden mentality burden itself with the opinions of those it purports to defend?

Care to pose the question?

Let us know what they say.

If an abused wife downplays the beatings and defends her husband, does that make the abuse okay?

I think everyone in this world should have rights, ...
No, you don't. You think Muslim women should conduct themselves in a manner wholly subject to your approval because you are convinced that you know what they are feeling, what they should be feeling, and what would be best for them.

This is getting more than a little pathetic. Let me ask a question:
How many participants in this thread have actually and in person talked about such issues with Muslim women?

I have, but not in years, and not about school prayer.

I think you are missing the point, and trying to explain it will be fruitless.

Can I ask why every person in the world has to live by secular American cultural standards?

Do you have anything constructive to add, or are you just going to insult me because you disagree with my claim?
Suggesting that you actually learn the facts before babbling is the best you're likely to get -- and you'll no doubt ignore the advice.

That's not what I'm saying at all. I am saying that sometimes we stick our noses in where it doesn't belong.
I completely agree with you.
Yes. Therefore?
Therefore, even though a group of people may claim they are not being relegated to an inferior status, that does not necessarily end the debate. There is still a window open to claim this group is not socially conscious of their inferior status. The burden of evidence rests on the claimant(s), of course.

May I assume that you haven't made the call (but would rather chant drivel instead) ?

Of course I haven't made the call, because it wouldn't prove anything. As we've already established, just because someone has been indoctrinated into accepting their status as a second class citizen doesn't make it morally acceptable.

Who says they are inferior? This is the same thought projected onto Jewish women. "We are inferior because, because, because..." I don't feel inferior to my husband. he doesn't force me to do anything i don't want to do and neither does he manipulate me into doing what he wants me to do. Many Muslim women are the same.
How is being a woman automatically place them into an inferior position?

I have spoke to three about this. In person. God only knows how that topic came up, it was some time ago. One thing I know is that it wasn't me who brought it up.

One of the Muslim women in the class said she feels "a little down" about not being able to pray because of something natural. The other two didn't mind, and thought it was strange of her to feel that way about it. None of them said they went to mosque during their monthly menstruations, though.

Obviously most don't mind - but some do, as was the case for one of them.

It's not like I'm saying that Islam or Muslims consider women as inferior or anything, anyway. Just to point that out.

Although, I do not know if you asked for this for a particular reason.

So, "we've" already established that these girls are hated and indoctrinated. Thanks for the enlightenment mastah!
