He IS my President

Do you believe we'd mark it a "success" if things took a turn for the worse as you hint at?
Things already took a turn for the worse. It happened when he suggested banning immigration by Muslims and when he was endorsed by the KKK.

Isn't it a bit obvious that few and far between would be those who would consider the second coming of Hitler as "success"?
Lots of people considered the election of the first Hilter a "success".

Come back to me when he has done those things.

And then many of them didn't like what he did after that - they were just too scared to do anything about it. Do you believe that, in this day and age, and given the culture and climate of America that we would be too scared to do anything about it? I am one who simply has to hope not.

Come back to me when he has done those things.
So tomorrow. Get back to you tomorrow.

President Donald Trump is expected to take executive action on immigration on Wednesday that includes restrictions on refugees and U.S. visas in six countries, according to Reuters.

Sources told Reuters that visa holders from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen will be primarily affected by the order.

According to CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem, the Department of Homeland Security is currently considering "ending Syrian refugee program and a suspension of Muslim majority country visas."

Fear has nothing to do with it. Trump supporters aren't being cowed into following him out of here; they listened to his racist and xenophobic rhetoric, and then voted for him because they agreed with it... or at least because they weren't opposed to it enough for it to sway their vote.

I suggest you put more effort into asking us why we voted for him, & less into inventing reasons for us.
Otherwise we might be tempted to say you favored Hillary because you prefer incompetence, war,
corruption, political dynasticism, sexism, high taxes, big government, & Bill back in the White House.

This plank of his platform was xenophobic. If someone voted for Trump, there are only three options:

- he didn't know about this plank of his platform.
- he voted for Trump because of it.
- he voted for Trump in spite of it.

But you suggest you didn't vote for him because you expected him to do what he promised? Okay - I'll bite. Why did you vote for him, then?

I expected.....
- Less war than with Hillary.
- Lower taxes than with Hillary.
- Smaller government compared to Hillary.
- Better health care options than with Hillary.
- Saner gun control than with Hillary.

Too many anti-Trumpers, use many derisive terms to describe him, but this
creates an illusion that he must be opposed without considering the alternative.
A wise voter does more than blindly hate one side. He compares the 2 candidates.
Surprise, surprise....the lesser of 2 evils is Trump for many of us.

I think Trumps obvious racism is one of the main reasons people voted for him, sure they'll say they're not racist, but the vote for Trump says otherwise.

My circle is full of folks from the left. Needless to say, today is a rough day for some. I keep seeing this "notmypresident" hashtag thrown around. Donald Trump is the president of the US, I am a citizen of the US, Donald Trump is my president. I didn't vote for him this time around. I am skeptical and cautious. With that said, he is my president. From now, he has a fresh start in my mind. Up until now, it was media, campaigning, rallies, etc. I am willing to let all of that go because now he is in the position to govern. A very different position to be in. I am hopeful but cautious.
Since the people opposed to "not my president" seem all about nit-picky semantics, an interesting point I saw on the internet:

People don't have presidents; countries have presidents. Trump is not "your president" because you are not the United States.

And unless you're in the military, Trump is not your Commander-in-Chief. If you're a civilian, you have no Commander-in-Chief.

Yes, I had to balance that against Hillary's misandric, hawkish, socialistic, classist, thievery.
It wasn't an easy choice.
But she was bad enuf that Gary Johnson wasn't good enuf.

I have no president, and will never refer to anyone as "my president." They are the president. To me that is nothing more than a title and not a reason to think of them as somehow better than myself, that I "have to have" a leader.
So, no, he is not my president. Nor was Obama, either Bush, Clinton, or Reagan.

Extraordinarily stupid logic.

You think......not proving......but you think his obvious racism is one of the main reasons people voted for him.......no evidence at all......therefore they say they are not racist but because you think his obvious racism is why people voted for him.....unproven......than therefore they are racist.

God I'm glad you don't work for me. It would ruin the above average intelligence of our group.

Actually I'm a genius IQ, National Merit scholar finalist in high school, aced the math section of my SAT and scored 720 on Writing, what did you score.

As I've said before, racism is always a strong motivating factor to vote Republican, and especially with Trump, who has been more outwardly racist in tone than any Presidential candidate in modern history.

Everyone saying they think it's better if we support Trump... what about impeachment.

Why?

Explain it. In detail.

Please spare me the womanizing. None of my fellow liberals had a problem with a former POTUS accused of violent rape and known to use his position to have an affair with an intern.

Impeach him for what? What has he done. He just assumed the position.

Do you actually have anything intelligent to add?

So far he ended the Pacific Trade agreement which will make some large companies such as Nike and Wal-Mart upset. The Republicans in Congress are trying to push through a defunding campaign against Planned Parenthood and some anti-abortion bills but that has nothing to do with the POTUS yet. His cabinet is supporting repealing the ACA but introducing a plan that keeps pre-existing conditions protected.

So what? What do you propose for impeachment?

Those marches? General complaining when we don't even know what his tenure will entail? Claims of Nazism by members of this forum who don't know any better?

Impeachment is always on the table but for all that is sane let us at least get into this current POTUS' term before people start putting the cart before the horse because they are simply inanely upset over the election.

I don't care.

You have not provided an actual argument.

Self proclaimed claims mean nothing and Woodrow Wilson was actually one of the most racist modern POTUS in American history.

This is too easy.

I'm not a genius. I'm an alcoholic. I never graduated university. I've spent time in jail. I also suffer from mixed mania bipolar disorder. I'm high as a kite right now.

This is supposed to be a ****ing challenge.

Let me go take a shot and I'll be right back with your useless argument.

But while I'm gone.........

Your logic is absolute garbage. You make some assumptions and then apply those assumptions on those you don't even know.

Completely stupid.
