Twenty-four hours? It only takes about 5 minutes of watching my thoughts to realize that I'm god. Sorry, try again.
No this is an exercise to make you realize that you are not God and that your body and thoughts run off a source greater than yourself.
You don't control your thoughts or breath and if you tried you wouldn't be able to after a short while.
It also means that if you can get beyond your mind you can experience spiritual states.
Can you think of an argument against god that applies to all forms of divinity that human beings may worship?
Do all atheists have horns & a wonderful rubicund hue as do you?
Yes, cheeseburgers.
Of course I don't. The leprechaun who lives in my brain does. Duh.
This sounds like something said by someone whose mind isn't worth being in. I feel for those poor souls.
I thought we were having a serious and mature discussion. Guess not.
A little introspection and practice of this idea should get any person to start thinking there is something more beyond themself.
This speaks to the sharpness of your analytical skills.
A little introspection should get any person to start thinking that there is little that is less beyond oneself than the idea of god.
I think when someone uses a leprechaun and cheeseburger to answer something about what we are talking about is not being serious. I'm right on about that analysis.
Ok so what do you truly think it is that sustains our bodies? What gives us consciousness, and thought? What controls our breathing and beating heart? Besides a leprechaun and cheeseburger.
The fact that you thought this was a serious thread speaks to your analytical skills. Your misintepretation of my statement speaks to your reading comprehension skills.
I don't find it in my best interest to take the large amount of time it would take to provide you with the knowledge of biology, physiology, and emergent phenomena for you to understand the answers to these questions. Particularly, when I can safely assume you're not interested in the real answers.
Oh really? So this thread has no intent to bring forth any argument by theists? What a waste of time. I didn't misinterpret your statement at all. If you think you're not going to get serious arguments from serious theists by posting this on a religious forum then that makes no sense.
I am interested in the real answers. The reason being is you could seach all day in books or studies and never find the true answer to that question. It is beyond science, which is my point.
Your lack of scientific knowledge doesn't magically make things you don't understand "beyond science." Sorry.
I understand science pretty well. I understand that the sun's energy, the oxygen, water and earth's elements helps sustain us. My question goes further though. What created our consciousness? What keeps our heart beating, our lungs breathing, and our thoughts going? I have yet to find anything in science that can explain these things.

Consciousness is a huge topic, but essentially chemical reactions. Now, not everything is known about the topic of consciousness. But just because something is not known, does not mean you're justified in making something up. I'm not talking about you specifically.
I'm not making up anything. I'm just saying that this is the one thing more than anything to me that gives us a hint of an intelligent creator.
Believe what you want but God realized masters throughout the years all speak the same truth about consciousness and it is because God created us in his image and therefore gave us the capacity to become Godlike within himself if we just used our consciousness in the right way.

Heh. Time to show your cards then I think...Yes, yes I can.
Just kidding, there's nothing you could stump me with.
Silly little people.
