Homosexuality is not natural and is not normality

Yes, though the thread was started by a Catholic, and as usual people have tried to justify homophobia with religious dogma. There are so many of these discussions here, I find them tiresome and rather depressing.
It's not homophobia though Spiney. You need to see that. I have no problem with them, I just say we should not live together. I'm sure that many of them would say the same about me. ;)

Depressing they certainly are. One wonders how come we even managed to overcome slaver mentality.
I think in the UK it was brought about through Chritians and the Church, though I'm sure there were secular people there as well...

Not sure why you are bringing this subject to fore when it seems unconnected to the matter, but but the UK was brought about by specific people, often by oppressing or outright killing other people. Some of them were Christian, which hardly evidences anything in particular.

What is your point?

Gosh. Can you even say that with a straight face, man?

But it invariably is. I have gay friends who've been victimised, and I know what homophobia looks like and how prevalent it is.
I can only speak about what I see here, and mostly my own views. There is right and wrong, and that is what you have to identify. The difference between me and you is that we have different ideas of them.

I too have had work mates who were gay, men and women. If we live apart, then this is not a problem ever again, eh.

That, quite plainly, is Just Not Good Enough.

To be homophobic means you have a ''phobia'' about something. That is a strong statement that you force down someone's throat.

If saying that we should live a aprt means I have a phobia, then I could say it about lots of things. But to say that, for example, I have a phobia about the colour red just because I don't like, it would seem absurd.

If that is an issue, fine.

I ask then how can you possibly entitle yourself to such discrimination. It is frankly disgusting, even worse than disgusting.

Basic respect and acceptance of other people, regardless of sexual orientation, is not really optional for people who aim to be civilized and respectable.
Quite right. So we live apart and then we do not bother one another. No doubt you say live together then we can disrespect one another because we do not agree with what we see or here.... which is part of human nature... you and I are doing it now.

As I said: Just Not Good Enough. That is the same rationale that sustained racial segregation, except that it makes even less sense when used to attempt to justify homophoby.

Actually, I do not intend to give that disrespect any acceptance or rest. Distance is not much of a factor.

And to judge is to discriminate from one idea to another. (have you just woke up? I thought you were clever?)

Of course. Ideas are fair basis for judging people, because people must take responsibility for them.

Sexual inclination isn't. Have you truly failed to notice that?

If everyone kept their sexual preferences/identities a ‘secret,’ everyone would treat everyone else the same, barring any other prejudices. How sadly odd that the minute some people find out the sexual preference/identity of others…they view them differently. That’s not being human, that’s called being a bigot. :/
