Over 41,000 killed. Systematic destruction of an entire population . Had the people didn't flee - then over two million would have died. Every building standing has been destroyed.
We disagree on some crucial ideas here. Certainly, if I believed what you just said, I would understand your point. But I don't agree with what you just said. If Israel had wanted to kill two million Palestinians or a couple hundred thousand or whatever big number you suggest, they could have accomplished that on 10/8.
The facts are that for the last 14 months or so they've been putting their own troops in harm's way, battling with embedded cowards, so as to minimize civilian casualties.
As I've said before, I think the only solution here is for the UN to step in and eradicate Hamas from Gaza. And my guess is that if they did it, their approach would be a lot like the IDF's approach. The reasons I think the UN must take this on are (at least):
- The UN largely created this problem in the first place.
- The UN has watched this situation fester for decades and done nothing.
- For unclear reasons, a lot of people take the stance that this horrible situation is "100% because of the Jews", and as long as that's a common belief, there is no path for Israel to take that makes sense for Israel to survive. So the UN must step in.
Now I think it's unlikely that the UN will step in because the OIC is a huge voting block in the UN, the the OIC would never agree to a UN intervention.
