Whatever gains the most power for the most people in the most situations is the most moral.

That's my moral code anyway.

I've no problem with that, though perhaps better then my morals. I mean I don't mind everyone sharing equally in power as long as no one is stepping on my toes.

Did I just see slavery equaled to being an employee? Really? Honestly? Does someone not know what a slave is or are they being intentionally obtuse as to serve their own desires?

Ah, I see ... just delusion after all.

A child does not need to know what the sun is to feel its warmth, know what cold and warm fronts are to feel the wind upon them. A person does not need to know what love is to feel it. One does not need to know and have all the answers about the Divine to experience it. Just because you cant label and box something personally does not make it delusion.

Let's compare. A slave works for his master. An employee works for his employee. A slave has to do what the master requires of him. The employee has to do what his employer requires of him. The slave is provided food, clothing and housing. An employee is provided money to purchase food, clothing and housing.

There are a few differences. The slave doesn't get to choose his food, clothing and housing but an empoyee does. A slave is not free to leave the premises without permission but an employee can go wherever he wants provided he can get to work on time.

Also, the fact that slaves are considered the property of their masters and are not granted basic human rights because they were not considered equals to their owners. It's pretty obvious which kind of slavery God talks about in the Bible considering the Bible specifies the exact criteria for which one person can literally own another, how long for, and how many of their children should be considered their property.

Seriously, there's no way you can weasil out of that one.

Intentionally obtuse I see.

You might as well be comparing a doctor to a horse. There is a huge difference. One is kept property to be used and abused as the owner sees fit. The other has free reign to take a job or leave it, has rights so as to not be mistreated by their employer, and the freedom to make decisions about their own life.

Apples and chairs.

Much like a pet or farm animal. Seriously, if he's going to compare slaves to anything it shouldn't be employees, it should be farm animals. Well, actually, farm animals have it better off really. Treat them inhumanely and the ASPCA will step in and remove the animals and arrest you to boot.

That is a particularly bad form of slavery but not the only form. Slavery is power over people and those in power sometimes abuse those who are in their power. Governments have power over their people in varying degrees and have been know to abuse their citizens. We actually consent to have government have power over us but we don't wished to be abused by it.

Do you have examples. My memory isn't so keen that it is obvious to me.

God does regulate less than perfect reality. He provides divorce even though He hates it, because the reality is that broken relationships can't be mended.

I have no intention to do so. I am only interested in the truth. Try it sometime.

I wasn't thinking about it until you mentioned it but the truth is that Jesus did say that you will either serve Mammon or Him. I suppose He means that we are all slaves to our flesh at least in part and some almost totally but I do not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God. I suppose in a sense we are all slaves to life although there are some that free themselves from it.
