How should the Christian Church treat homosexuals?

Sorry don't agree with this one. Jesus died for us while we were still in our sins because he loved us.

It's so weird how everyone has to speak FOR God and Jesus and yet neither of them ever actually speak for themselves in public. Are they just busy in a different galaxy or what? Do they have to go from inhabited planet to planet dying for peoples' sins over and over again?

Not that it is treated as a special sin but its the fact of it trying to be justified in society that it creates such a resistance.

Again, by naming Homosexuality as a sin, with no substantial evidence of your faith as "Truth" you are merely forcing your own faith upon people that may not necessarily agree with you.

Meaning you are trying to push your own religious agenda upon the legal system. My question to you is, how can you not see that you are doing this?

By denying a minority something based on the fact that your religion outlines it as a "sin", and then allowing people outside your faith (also sinners according to your holy book), including inter-faith marriages, then you are proving yourselves to be little more than hypocrites.

I'm sorry, I don't like to say it. But that is what it is. Blatant hypocrisy.

It's always easy to bully someone you outnumber. Again I state... Homosexuality has been around forever. We've more than proven that by surviving centuries of hostility, centuries of persecution and centuries of blatant ignorance based on fear.

Perhaps it's time for fundamentalists to focus on living their own lives instead of trying to dictate the lives of those around them? If I got married to my partner, it would have absolutely no effect on any heterosexual relationship, unless one person within that relationship was perhaps Bisexual, or a closeted Homosexual themselves.

Even then... seriously. Why would I want you (or your partner) when I am in a loving wonderful relationship with a man who means the world to me? Do all you straight men think you are so drop dead gorgeous that every Gay man could actually be bothered hitting on you?

Or ladies... do you think that every Lesbian suddenly wants to jump you? Seriously? All I sense in that logic is arrogance, egotism and stupidity. When are you guys going to realise that we'd rather have a person to live with who can, you know, reciprocate the love we have for them?

yes he loves everyone but sin seperates us from God, he loves all his creation but sin has to be removed...:)

I love my kids but sometimes I dont like what they do....:)

Seems biblical enough to me. So in that case then the church should allow homosexuals to enter church, yes?

The lobby for women's right to vote had stiff resistance, too. Not to mention the civil rights movement of the 60s. Curse them for thinking they could be our equals!

I would... but would Christians leave us alone? These things work both ways.

Generally speaking I respect all religions. I've found some merit in each one I have observed. However (sadly) I've noticed with Christianity is the tendency to try and "save" people by restricting their opportunity for equality.

I'm not saying all Christians do such things. But I know plenty that have, and do. If we had equality in the Legal System, would you then be content with having the freedom as to whether or not your congregations could in fact choose not to run ceremonies to marry Same-Sex Couples?

I know if I ever got the chance to get married (though personally it's not a big issue in my life at the moment) I'd probably get a non-denominational (non-religious) celebrant, and hold it at some parkland.

Nothing big, as long as there's a barbecue and some music. :D

absolutely....:yes::)

it's was like pulling teeth

so what is the problem with having people live in agreement?
as far as this country is concerned, who hasn't heard about jesus?
it is close to 80% christian, and the responsibility of showing unbelievers the power of god is wasted once one begins to doubt.
so far throughout this thread i see a controlling christian... and when a person wants to control other people it is a sign of insecurity.
what is wrong with letting god work through you by having you follow the 2 most important commandments... or are you not so sure that will work...so you go about it the easy way...by judging and controlling others, which defeats your purpose.
yet thesse commandments are tossed aside when it comes to what you think hurts gods feelings.
love your neighbor..."what you did to the least of these you also did to me" is also fulling the 1st commandment.
love hopes and trusts. obviously, you don't trust anyone who says to you that they can't change because the are made that way...which puts you in a position where you feel you have to defend god...why? do you need to defend god? is god that weak?
don't you see how self defeating that is?

where is the meek and humble servant god wants? instead i see is a passive aggressive servant of god...and what is the point of all that...?

would it be fair to say that you're anxiousness is the reason you feel you have to defend god and his feelings?

so Jesus didn't command his people to go out and spread the good news...:)

no anxiousness at all just would love to see everyone Get saved...:)

almost 80% of americans are christians...who hasn't heard of the word in the states?
seems to me, it's your lack of faith that makes you feel the need to help god or defend god or whatever, as if you could....
a self defeating tactic.

no anxiousness at all just would love to see everyone Get saved...:)

or you would love for everyone to be like you...
