I just had two bottles of gin. My question to the fine folks of RF: what does it take to be a real gintleman? Should I have more?

Thanks for the tips(y)!

Drink water and pee. That will help you not to feel as sick as you're going to feel. Also, you don't need to drink more to feel more drunk. You'll continue to get more drunk for a while. Even when the alcohol is gone tomorrow you will have a sort of woozy feeling.

I could never get into Gin. A Tom Collins isn't awful but I tried to take a drink of straight gin once. Wasn't my cup of tea booze.

BE CAREFUL!!!

If you have drunk a lot of neat spirits and you then drink lots of water it can kill you.

Best thing is to throw up or get your stomach pumped out at hospital.

The reason is that your stomach can only absorb neat spirits relatively slowly. If you dilute it, your stomach will accept it as not being a foreign poison and you will get a rush of alcohol into the bloodstream.

Drinking water is a great idea after too much alcohol in dilute form , e.g wine or beer, but a lot of neat spirits is another matter and far more dangerous.

P.S. But now I see it wasn't neat gin at all, merely 15% alcohol, about the same as dry sherry, so your advice should be fine. Phew!

Explains some of the effects when I was a problem drinker.
