I havent read through the thread but I wanted to chime in on this.

Ability is the one that works best for me! Some meds work for some while some don't. It it usually a process to find the right cocktail of pills that works for a specific individual.

Just wanted to throw that out there.
Yeah, it definitely can work for some!

My only trouble is there's almost an expectation that it does work(and when it doesn't work, or when the problem could be better addressed by another med, its generally ignored, or maybe that's just for pediatrics).

Since everyone on here seems to think I’m referring to myself when I talk about this man of importance, for the fun of it i wonder what people would say to me here if I did claim that. Haha

Honestly, I'm not that impressed with Abilify.
Neither was I. It gave me grand mal seizures for a couple of years or so before it was figured out that was what was causing it. I have a bone injury in my shoulder due to collapsing on it during a seizure that is very painful and needs surgical repair. :(

Probably about the same as they already had, though it might take a different angle for you in the debates section.

That's terrible, I'm sorry. :(

I've never been on it, but they have my son on it. It takes down the psychotic behaviors a hair, but I feel it could potentially much better addressed by a different drug.

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Quite probably, add that schizophrenia is hard to diagnose, there are other illnesses that need to be addressed first, depression, bi-polar etc. From my brother in laws doctor saying it could be schizophrenia to a psychiatrist diagnosing him took close to 4 years.
Yes it took around 2 years and he was diagnosed with bipolar 1 before he was diagnosed as schizophrenic. They did at least know SOMETHING was wrong with him.
