HUMANIANITY: THE RELIGION FOR EVERYONE

Bill..this is the first post you made that makes sense to me....I think from the title of this thread....most thought you were starting a "new religion"....if not...is it part of humanism ?

Now that we have established your religion is not new.....what do you think is the most novel part ?

Lets take a look at one of your examples...belief management....what is new here ?

I am a reform Jew (small "r"). My views are syncretic between: Reform, Reconstructionist, Renewal, Jewish atheist, humanist and agnostic.....do you believe any of your ideas are not covered by the schools I believe in ?

I am a psychiatrist, not psychologist. I have just retired. I don't claim to be starting a new religion that is apart from all other religions. I claim to be calling attention to a movement within Religion, and within our species, to which I have given a label. If you are truly interested in my ideas on anger prevention, child rearing, and belief management, you may be interested in those chapters in Book1. If you are interested in my ideas regarding the mind-body problem (and free-will vs. determinism problem), you may be interested in Book3. My ideas more specifically about Humanianity are in Book2. Any sentence or paragraph is going to be somewhat "simplistic." All of these are available (free), readable online, at:
FOR EVERYONE: Rational-Ethical Living & Rational-Ethical Religion

My effort in those books was to present an orderly, understandable description of this phenomenon that I believe is occurring, that I believe will require some intensive study to understand fully. Any brief presentation in just a few sentences will result in highly predictable misunderstanding and misrepresentation due in part to stereotyping.

On the other hand, reading the orderly presentation of the ideas allows for identification of the first sentence that seems incorrect or unclear in the context in which it is written. I know that not many people will wish to undertake that effort, and you may not wish to. You being a scientist and engineer certainly enables you to understand that a sentence or two does not accomplish a satisfactory presentation of a complex set of ideas.

I have attempted to answer your questions to the best of my ability. I do not know exactly what you mean by "bs," other than that you obviously do not have a high opinion regarding the quality of answers. Perhaps you could try asking another question, or taking one of my answers to one of your questions and asking a further question about it (quoting the original question and my answer to it). I will try to respond appropriately and to the best of my ability.

I believe I have answered that over and over.

You keep asking what is new. Please read the introduction to Book1:

I believe that most all of these improvements within the religions are manifestations of the third exponential change, and thus of Humanianity.

I don't yet even know what a DIR is. I'll be glad to start a thread somewhere else. Where do you suggest?

Hello again!
My suggestion is to always use General Discussion and General Debate groups.....

Any group which shows 'Only' or 'DIR' can tend to cause some members to exclude themselves! :)

Bill, please change the name to "Humanity", I keep trying to pronounce "Humanianity" and failing miserably!
We are an elite group. Not everyone has the capability of membership.

(BTW, Humanianity is to all the specific religions (and other efforts to achieve a human basic ethical philosophy not necessarily designated "religious") as Humanity is to all specific humans.)

Oh, I thought you wanted to be inclusive. If you want to keep it elite then why publicise it at all? I still think "Humanity" would be better.
Bill wants it to be elite...only those that can spell and say humanianitarianism....can be members....;)

Bill......... Hi....
Questions:-
If circa 80% of the population of the World would be Humanianitarian.....
Would there be a World Government? If so, how formed?
Would there be police forces?
Would there be criminal laws and social rules?
Could people own property and land?
How would schools operate?
How would minority religions be treated?
Would the social system be communal or capitalistic, etc?
Would there be a military defence strategy - in place?

200 years ago, you asked me how in the world we would be able to travel 65 mph down the road in our vehicles. We'd scare all the horses!

Your deliberate misspelling of the name implies that you are not really serious in your questions. If you are serious, you can read Book1. There is no way in the world of predicting specific answers to specific questions about how things will be 200 years from now. We can only look at more general ideas. That doesn't mean that there is no reason to work on changing ourselves now in the direction that we see we need to go in. When we globally are using the rational-ethical model of child rearing, things will be drastically different. But of course we may never get there. It depends on our using our imaginations and our reasoning abilities, and overcoming the closure of our minds and our tendencies to attack and ridicule each other because of difference of opinion.

Who....... me? No, I did not.....

Who...... me? I made my best guess for an adjective, and you have not offered a solution, only aggression.

...so you could not answer one of the questions...?

So there is no plan, no main-objective and no idea for a humanianatarian future?

A straight question is just that............ if questions are seen as a form of ridicule, then that is very dangerous indeed. Your responses to simple questions are most worrying.

You see? A handful of simple questions brought forth all that I need to know about your religion.

Yes, you're right, it does take work. But I am not looking for credit. I am looking for genuine interest in the ideas, which have to be presented in a systematic way, as done in Book1. It does not make sense for me to C/P the book here. Without systematic study of the ideas, with clarification of how words are being used in the presentation of the ideas, assumptions are made that are not correct. I don't know of a good way to have others become familiar with the set of concepts being offered. I am not being successful here.

Presenting a list of things I am trying to accomplish sounds like a good thing. I'll work on it.
