Dear te, That's because they believe what ancient goatherders thought. Here is what Scripture actually says and my comments:

Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,

This is the Day that the LORD God (YHWH/JESUS) made the Earth physically. This was the THIRD Day according to Gen 1:9-10

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

The plants, herbs and Trees GREW on the THIRD Day. Gen 1:12

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Woops. It doesn't say that man was "created" but that he was formed of the dust and Jesus breathed life into him and man became a living being. It was Adam, the first Human, and he was made with an intelligence like God's. Gen 3:22 ALL of Adam's descendants have inherited his unique, higher form, of intelligence, which separates Humans from animals.

8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Just a couple of more verses which confirm that we are indeed speaking of the THIRD Day since this account agrees with Gen 1:12-13 which shows that the Trees grew on the THIRD Day. Notice that the TREES were made AFTER Adam was made.

Conclusion, Adam was made the 3rd Day BEFORE any other living creature making it IMPOSSIBLE for Humans to have evolved from the common ancestor of Apes, since the Big Bang of our world, was also on the SAME THIRD Day, which was some 13.7 Billion years ago, in man's time. Beware the words of those who don't know what Day it is. God Bless you.
