They hadn't invented the safety-word yet?I hear this all the time. "I'm good, therefore I'm going to heaven."
Really?
I would ask, why did Jesus bother to die on the cross then?

what is a sinI hear this all the time. "I'm good, therefore I'm going to heaven."

I suppose people have been taught that you go to heaven if you're "good". The Bible says "the upright will reside in the earth, And the blameless will remain in it. (Proverbs 2:21) I believe most of us will live forever on earth if we are upright and blameless. (Psalm 37:29) Accepting the ransom sacrifice of Jesus is part of being considered "blameless" by God, IMO.I hear this all the time. "I'm good, therefore I'm going to heaven."

I assume that he did not "bother to die on the cross." On the contrary he, like tens of thousands of other Jews, was given no choice by the Romans.I would ask, why did Jesus bother to die on the cross then?
That is a statement of faith, not fact.Fact: Jesus died for our sins.

Question. Let's assume that sometime before Hitler died, he accepted Jesus and blah blah lord & saviour. Would he be in heaven?I hear this all the time. "I'm good, therefore I'm going to heaven."

I don't know. I am not God. Only He can see into the hearts of men.Question. Let's assume that sometime before Hitler died, he accepted Jesus and blah blah lord & saviour. Would he be in heaven?
a transgression against Godwhat is a sin
Believing in the gospel, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, is crucial to living eternally with the Lord.I suppose people have been taught that you go to heaven if you're "good". Eva killed herself with Cyanide because she wanted to leave a recognziable corpse. Hitler did cyanide & then immediately shot himself, fearing capture by a Red Army seeking vengeance.I don't know. I am not God. Only He can see into the hearts of men.
Ummmm, by the way, didn't Hitler shoot his girfriend b4 killing himself? Just sayin'.
Then consider my statement retracted, you struck me as the "belief in Jesus is the only meaningful factor" sortJust exactly what does "accepting Jesus as Lord blah blah blah" mean? Explain.
I don't get that "accepting Jesus as my personal savior" thing from the Scriptures. I understand it to be more like believing Jesus is the Son of God, then doing everything He says to do. You know, "Take up your cross and follow Me." That's my understanding, anyway.
Yes He did.Jesus (pbuh) never claim that he will die on the cross for your sins. what's a justice God could let His son die for sins, he never commit !
that the Authors of Bible claim.
I was never very good at remembering historical facts. Thanks for setting me straight.Eva killed herself with Cyanide because she wanted to leave a recognziable corpse. Hitler did cyanide & then immediately shot himself, fearing capture by a Red Army seeking vengeance.

Yes He did.
God sent His Son for that purpose because He loved us so much.
Jesus is our mediator. You don't stand a chance without Him.There is no middle man between me & God, I am responsible for my sins and God forgives me when I repent.

So He hated his "son",so He let him died for sins he never commited ?Yes He did.

I believe God can forgive our sins without let His "son" being killed .
Sorry ,God let His "son" die for sins ,had no sense to me.
That's what Muslims believe. We, christians, believe He was who He claimed to be, the Son of God.You do know that the term messiah was something only Jews knew about and it had nothing to do with salvation or divine being? It's nothing more than a term for Jewish king that will mark the peaceful time for Jews, there were many messiahs because it means nothing but "anointed one (by God)" if the term was close to "saviour/christ" then your argument would be valid. No human was God and God was surely not human nor will He ever be. Yeshua ﷺ was nothing more but a prophet.
